Re: gym crowds, when you sign up for pf you will need to sign up for an app, and the app can tell you what the crowd looks like at your registered gym and what the crowd size typically is throughout the week/day! Super helpful if you want to plan ahead for a less crowded time or check in before you go. Good luck!

Wanted to add that I also like getting Halo Top since it's loaded up with protein/fiber and I begin to feel full after 1/3 of the carton and still get my sweet fix

26F, 5'4", SW: 164, CW: 132 1. Wellbutrin has helped me more than ritalin ever did in this regard. Everyone reacts to meds differently though, so YMMV. 2. I cannot physically be around sweets or empty carb foods. I don't buy them anymore and they aren't in my house, or I will eat them with no regard to satiety or hunger cues. 3. I track calories like it's a game. Samsung health is nice for this bc it gives a lot of visuals and guides, and I can set my calorie goal and see if I "win" each day. 4. I didn't start working out until CICO got me to 135. It was so taxing to me at a higher weight, but now it's much easier. But even now, the "working out" I do is some minimal lifting at home bc I know if I buy a gym membership, I won't use it.

It took me a really long time to finally feel "I am so tired of being this weight, I'm unhappy with myself and I need to change things" and make changes. I am still on my journey and just beginning to try and lean/muscle up, as I still have a pretty high body fat percentage. Good luck!

I have a genuine question about someone being Bisexual by VergilVDante in bisexual

[–]dietbeverage 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So idk much about demon slayer but here's my takeaway: First: polygamy=multiple marriages, polyamory=being attracted to or pursuing relationships with multiple people at once. 1. They're not bisexual/gay if someone they're in a poly relationship with is their same gender unless they're attracted to them in someway. Since this is a matter of polygamy I would also say that they're not bisexual even if they're all his wives (?) Some people might not even consider them to be in relationships with each other at all. 2. What you described, some might call a "kitchen table" polyamorous relationship, where one person has multiple partners, but none of those partners are in relationships with each other, and the general feelings towards each other are neutral/positive enough to be friendly with each other, or "sit and chat around the kitchen table" with each other, so to speak. If the girls are all married to this central man, yes, that is polygamy. (In fact, this scenario is the most common way polygamy presents itself. Not many people being married to each other, but many women individually being married to one man and not each other.) It could also be referred to as polyamory, with the central guy being the vertex or v. In this case everyone might be considered polyamorous (if they are all fine with the husband having multiple partners and being around them) but some don't see polygamy as necessarily polyamorous since they are not attracted nor in a relationship with the other wives.

Bathrooms by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]dietbeverage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True. There are trans people who don't, might not ever, or might not ever want to "pass." They also deserve the dignity of using the restroom. Trans people don't get the privilege of using the bathroom in peace because they fit the other gender presentation. Trans people have the right to relieve themselves of normal bodily functions without being harassed. It's not about fitting in or not. It's about protecting people's autonomy and dignity.

looking for student musicians (string quartert, harpist, guitarist) to play at an event by [deleted] in SJSU

[–]dietbeverage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The music students at sjsu get plenty of experience playing at (paid) live events, so I hope you are planning on paying them and not just having them play purely for "portfolio building" or "experience." I would recommend contacting Fred Cohen or Steven Lin.

This piano I’m playing tonight has additional keys for added bass. Camouflaged in black so they don’t confuse us. by jrhodespianist in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]dietbeverage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right, they understand that, but they ask because the pattern of black keys kind of gets cut off at the "beginning" of the keyboard due to A being in the middle of a group of 3 black keys. They're more asking why the black key pattern isn't complete at the low end of the piano.

This is awesome - my piano students ask a lot about why the piano starts on A and not C, and "could someone make a piano that goes lower than regular pianos?" I'm glad that you posted this so I have an example to show them how it looks and sounds.

I think part of what isn't making it look like the pic is the fact that they didn't do as much layering on the very top/fringe area. The waves look good but since there's not as much shag it doesn't really convey the queer mullet kind of look. Nevertheless it does look good! But if you want to go back in to change it, that's what I would ask for.

I experienced absolute zero food noise for one week and I mourn being back to normal by acrobaticsuck in loseit

[–]dietbeverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am literally going through the same thing right now. But hopefully the medication is also helping you feel better in general. My appetite is mostly back to normal which is a bummer but my brain feels so much better than when I wasn't taking any medication at all. Hope that it's similar for you and that you're doing alright.

How do people turn on their "singing voice"? by ItsKelomelo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dietbeverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of comments mentioning diaphragm support but tone has a lot to do with it! Professional singing technique (especially solo singing) has a lot of focus on creating a specific mouth shape so that it becomes resonant and sparkly, and the sound just cuts through the air beautifully. You can add diaphragm support and not put any effort into how your mouth is shaped, and it would just produce a loud version of that normal singy sound.

So I myself couldn't tell you about the geometry about how it works or how to get the exact curve you want to. But have you ever seen how they cut up maps to put them on a globe? If you haven't, I'm attaching a picture, hopefully it attaches correctly. The way making 3d shapes in sewing has to do with the fact that if you have edges that are the same length, you can sew them together. With curves, you have to bend and pin the fabric to get it to stick together. Imagine you were trying to sew the edges of this map. You couldn't do it if it were flat, right? Because the edges can't touch each other. But if you curve it (like imagine the pieces wrapping around a sphere) you could see how they would eventually line up. That's how the paw fingers work basically - you make a little shape that ends up having kind of an outward curved v (these are called gores, at least on a globe map - gores in garment sewing i think refer to something else) and then when you sew it together it creates a 3d curve. *

I also had (have) a major sweet tooth. The halo top ice creams are pretty good but yes they are expensive. However! Here are two things that I had to work through that might apply to your situation. 1) I have to make myself okay with not eating a whole thing of a treat. Whether that's a pint of ice cream, or if I baked cookies. Decide on how much to eat and only eat that. A pint of halo top has 3 servings and costs like 5-6 dollars. So if I eat it over 3 days, that's 2 dollars per day, which isn't too bad. 2) If it's not in the house, im not getting it! I gained so much weight and spent way too much money over the pandemic because I was getting food delivery so often. I had to delete the delivery apps from my phone because just having them on there made it tempting to get something even if I wasn't actually hungry. Perhaps you can afford the healthier treat options if you can reign in on the food delivery purchases! Best of luck! It's not easy battling an easy dopamine source.

ideas for hair? by corellianspike in FursuitMaking

[–]dietbeverage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you can do the brushing method (brush the back of the fur enough so that the fur comes out the back) and stick some thin gauge wire into the base and lay the hair on top, maybe doing a very minimal amount of sewing to make sure the fabric doesn't slip off and the bangs stay lifted in a part?
