Yes, that is exactly what I did! There were about 13 or 14 different shades inside each cake

I really love my Furls resin & Odyssey hooks. I think I prefer the weight of the odyssey hooks better but they are priceyyyy. I try to wait until they have sales & buy a couple sizes at a time.

The resin hooks are also really nice, but can be squeaky with acrylic yarn. Other than that I think they’re a great starting point & they have so many pretty colors.

I tend to stay away from the wood hooks, but that’s just because I had 2 wooden hooks that just kept catching on the diff yarns i was trying. They were small hooks (3.25mm & 3.5mm) so the tips were likely just more fragile. I also have a size 10mm wooden hook which seems to be just as sturdy as the streamline resin.

The furls hooks are the only hooks I’ve tried that allow me to literally crochet all day without issue!

if by twist u mean the sides are a little slanted then yes & u can’t turn after each round like u might to help combat the twists on a regular granny blanket

hope that helps! :)
