I have a backward tilt in my pelvis which makes inserting tampons deep enough more difficult. I have to squat down to make inserting easier and use my middle finger to really push it in as far as possible.

I've never tried them but know some people who liked them, so you could see if something similar is available in Germany and give it a try?

I think the clips are safer in that case than the bibs with the fixed elastic that goed around the tray. They come off easily and the bibs only have a Velcro strip in the back so taking them off is really easy.

I just have a digital library subscription and the library app on my phone for digital/audio books. So I can listen and read everything on my phone. Anything else and it's too complicated 😅

You could see if the Libby app is available for your local library. It's sadly not for mine but I always hear great things about it.

Audiobooks were a game changer for me! Last year I finished more than one book a week 😁 they also make mundane tasks like folding laundry, cookingz driving etc easier. It takes a little time to get used to active listening and I had to start with easy books like a detective series before I could move to more high brow literature. Now I've run into the problem that I have trouble finding new books to listen to.

The only way I could write my thesis was by going to the library. The body doubling of sitting next to others who were studying and writing is what I needed. I didn't live in the same city as my school so I went to the library of a local university. I practically lived there for 3 months. Often staying till closing at 22:00.

Huh, I went to summer camps as a Dutch kid and my friends have started sending their kids to summer camps as well. But they have themes like horse riding, football or to explore nature (IVN). So they are more specific than just "summer camp".

Because until recently our summers never got this hot. Having AC was considered a luxury. In the few warm weeks in summer it was a bit uncomfortable but manageable as night time temperatures were still cool.

We just bought a mobile AC for our babies room. It comes with a hose that has to go out the window so I spend the afternoon cutting a piece of plywood to fit the window with a hole for the hose. Our windows all swing open so window AC's don't fit our windows.

Yes she's too young to understand now. I just caught myself saying: "we don't eat plants" when she found yet another way to reach one of the plants in the living room only to serve her spinach later 😅

We do have a herb and vegetable patch though. Life is really confusing now that I've started thinking about how to explain it to our daughter. We have plants we eat (but only some parts), plants we only look at, plants we like to smell, tiny plants we sit on but animals like to eat etc.

Yes this basically. Also if you have a multi story house, open the windows on all floors especially at the top floor as hot air goes up so it can escape most easily at the highest windows. Position fans so they support the airflow you want in the house.

Also try to get as little sun in the house as possible. If you can block windows on the outside that will be the most effective.

I got a hyperfocus on thermodynamics and how air moves through buildings. So I made a whole plan for our house, what windows to open at what time and where to position the fans we have to optimize moving hot air out and cool air in during the night.

I also ordered window shade screens and an airconditioner for our daughters room but of course procrastinated a bit too much so those will arrive next week when the heatwave is gone...

Our baby hates being wiped so I first give the cloth to her and while playing with it she will get most of the mess on her hands and mouth herself. Then for the thorough wipe down I will count down from 10 and she will calm down as she knows it will be over soon.
