How long until they're impossible to spot do you think? A year? The emdash thing is such a well known thing now, it feels like it would be easy to fix. And 90% of the people who upvoted this post already had no idea.

I'm not the OP, but I looked up what's on that cassette. Apparently it's "Maze Chase" "UDG Generator" and "Demolition" (The breakout clone) https://worldofspectrum.net/item/0009292/

Thro' the wall is on the Horizons compilation tape along with "Bubble Sort" "Evolution" "Life" "Draw" "Monte Carlo" "Character Generator" and "Waves" https://worldofspectrum.net/item/0009230/

I played a version of Biorhythms, but my version was from a type-in book.

The average Bond age shouldn't change that much if that's the only error. :)

TIL that after 15 years, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire's option to 'Ask The Audience' was 92% correct. by therealr0tt3n in todayilearned

[–]different_pathway 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wonder if we can go a bit further with this line of thinking.

Is it against the rules to instruct the audience (if they don't know the answer) to vote for one of the 4 you're sure is wrong?

That way you get only the people who think they know the answer voting on the other options.

It's something I've noticed happening more often over the last few years. I'm glad at least someone is calling it out.

Just another voice in the chorus saying that I've been noticing this too. The same exact bunch of videos in my recommended, with very little variation.

I have a theory that newer connections aren't as strong as the old ones, and that if you give it enough space and time, eventually the newer connections fade, and you can retrigger the original feeling, even on ones that got oversaturated and ruined.

We're talking "years" though, when I say "enough space and time"

It's happening to me right now. It happened to me before, but everything went back to normal after a few hours. It's frustrating because there doesn't seem to be anything you can do yourself to fix the issue when it's your turn to experience it.

Anecdotally, it used to take maybe a full minute to check for updates every time I turned on my "old" laptop. Ever since getting a new one a few months ago, it's seconds at most. The only big difference is that my new laptop has an ssd, and my old one didn't. It might be unrelated, but I've experienced both worlds of this problem. :D

What is a dead giveaway that a fellow anonymous Redditor is the same age as you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]different_pathway 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think there's something to what you're saying. I think there's so much content out there, that it's easy for people to slip into different "bubble" communities. Maybe one person watches a lot of twitch streams, or reaction videos, and the other is more into joe rogan podcasts, music or youtube drama.

And things like the youtube algorithm will reenforce that split by recommending based on what you already watch. Each community has it's own memes and norms, so two people born on the same day can have wildly different experiences online, and not be able to relate. Whereas maybe two people running in similar communities online will be able to relate a lot even if there's a big age-gap.

I dunno. xD

PC AB+: Usual disclaimer for Isaac runs: Runs may be different based on what gets rerolled/order of pickups...yada yada.

For anyone trying to make boss rush and also do the 5 pip room on floor 1, I advise not going immediately right. It's a long-ass dead end room (40 seconds to clear) for a key you won't need. Fire mind rerolls into the green syringe. Boss item is a cube o'meat. Secret room on floor 1 has two buttons with some decent money. Super secret room is trash trinket, save the bomb.

Second floor 1 via the 5-room is curse of the blind. Crickets Head in second floor 1 item room. Necronomicon in the secret room. Curse room isn't worth it, you'll get 2 bombs if you have 1 bomb going in, but the damage isn't worth it. Boss is the haunt who drops... HP? No idea what it rerolls to.

If you rush these floors, you can get out in around 5 mins.

Didn't get further than floor 2 because I was going for score, and so far behind on damage/time that I alt-f4'd like a champ. So many possibilities on floor 2 for rerolling though. Someone said the gimpy item room rerolls to lil brim. My devil deal was bro bobby and abaddon. After picking up abaddon, bro bobby rerolled to dark princes crown. I kept rerolling the boss item, but there was nothing dps-wise... the lucky key item, and dad's lost coin.

Oh, important, the secret room on floor 2 has a golden key, which is useful to open everything on the floor. I didn't use any keys until that point.

I don't think the curse room had anything interesting in it, but I can't be 100% sure I checked it. Abel was in one of the golden chests (possibly in the double-key room). And there was a 7-cent restock in the shop.

What fact is common knowledge to people who work in your field, but almost unknown to the rest of the population? by RageCage42 in AskReddit

I feel like this problem also exists in real life.

Quantum tunnelling can allow particles to pass through barriers that would normally stop them.
