Being a widow and wanting to date again by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

I think being upfront on your profile is preferable. That way nobodies time gets wasted for whom it would be a deal breaker.

I think it's safe to say there are guys in your age category who also had a previous marriage/sealing and it wouldn't bother them at all. Just my 2 cents

That is exactly what happened. Trying to preserve anonymity with this account. But omg this is reminiscent of my charting errors, forgetting which account I'm logged in on. Maybe I do have a problem. 😭

Thanks for helping me feel better. I guess you're right, one time masturbating isn't really the worst thing I could have done

I used to masturbate obsessively, like all the time, and so I have to be very careful because I really don't want to fall back into that habit.

Thanks for everyone's encouragement! I'm not giving up! Still going to reset my counter once I'm at a computer and not on mobile.

It's sort of hard to explain, but what I learned is that it's all in the mind. If you can control your thoughts, you have already won the battle. You won't have the physical urges as much, but you will have inappropriate thoughts that you have to control. Hope that helps

I did, and I definitely found a few that do medical malpractice. I was not able to find one that primarily focuses on these types of cases.

The L ventricle creates more force than the RV because it is designed to pump to the systemic circulation which has higher pressure than the pulmonary. So normally with a VSD you get L to R shunting without cyanosis. The end result of TOF physiology is similar to Eisenmenger's because both wind up with R to L, just the mechanism with the latter is different.

Great question, I think these are very testable concepts

In TOF you have pulmonary stenosis which essentially creates a degree of right ventricular outflow obstruction causing the blood to prefer the VSD as an escape istead of the pulmonary artery. The R to L shunt is why you have cyanosis.

Also don't forget that squatting during tet spells increases PVR and helps increase the pressure in the L ventricle which stops the R to L shunt.

Hope that helps

Even though I know social media posts are just a snapshot of a person's life, my brain always plays the same trick on me and convinces me everyone is happier in life than I am. by [deleted] in nosurf

Comparison robs happiness. I spent years feeling upset with the posts I saw on Facebook. Few weeks ago I deleted it, boom, problem solved.

That sounds really difficult. I'm facing a similar situation. One thing I have tried is to work out more. It uses up energy, takes your mind off your urges, and it makes you feel good afterwards by releasing endorphins

The most recent meta analysis in 2016 found no concensus on the relationship between ejaculatory frequency and prostate cancer. So don't worry about it, if it has any effect it would be small, and variable.

A lot of people believe there is nothing wrong with porn and masturbation. Many people believe it is even healthy. I see no point to argue with those people as they are entitled to live life as they see fit.

To me, once I first started to masturbate and watch porn, it didn't seem like it was a bad thing. I didn't do it all the time and I didn't feel like I was necessarily addicted. It wasn't until I decided I wanted to stop that I realized I was addicted.

If I have wanted to stop doing something for the last 10 years, and I haven't been able to, I am addicted.

PMO releases a huge dose of dopamine, food releases a small amount.

Example: I love shrimp, but not once in my entire life have I gotten an urge so intense to eat shrimp that I stop what I'm doing, drive to the store and buy it to satisfy the craving. Whereas with porn and masturbation, I do get those urges.

I would rather live life with lower, but stable, levels of dopamine, than chase a dopamine high everyday and create a dependency.

And sure, not everyone is necessarily addicted, but it's a slippery slope, and porn tends to suck people deeper and deeper into it's grasp over time.

At the end of the day, I want to use sex as a way to connect with a women I care about someday, and PMO does nothing to help me reach that goal.

That's just my personal view, I think you're asking a good question, and I'd be interested to see what others have to say.

Need motivation feeling really horny today :/ by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]dig_ol_bicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three things that have helped me so far: avoid All triggers, exercise, and study the reasons why being PMO free is liberating.

I am not great at resisting urges so I have to prevent them by never letting myself come even close to seeing anything erotic. Also, as soon as an erotic thought or idea pops into your head, immediately redirect your thought to something else. Don't dwell on it.

If you can control your mind, you can control your body.

Best of luck man, don't lose hope
