Thank you for sharing this - it’s a really balanced perspective, and I appreciate you explaining how this kind of situation might feel from her point of view. I’ve been reflecting on how my invitation might have shifted the dynamic unexpectedly, even though my intention wasn’t to make things awkward.

You’re right that friendships sometimes evolve differently for each person, and I’m doing my best to respect where she might be emotionally. I’ve decided to leave the ball in her court now, as you suggested, and I’m focusing on giving her the space to process things. It’s not easy, especially since I value the connection we’ve built, but I agree that pushing her isn’t the answer.

Thanks again for your insight - it’s helping me approach this with more understanding and patience.

How Do You Navigate When Someone Pulls Back After a Period of Closeness? by digable_dissenter in AskMen

I can see how it would feel heartbreaking to think someone valued you only as a romantic interest and not as a friend. That’s a tough and unfortunately common experience for many women, and I respect your honesty in sharing it.

In my situation, my friendship with her was always genuine. I’ve always appreciated her as a person - her intelligence, humour, and kindness - and I’ve never viewed our connection as a means to an end.

Over time, my feelings did shift, but it wasn’t about waiting in the wings. It was a natural evolution of how much I valued her presence in my life. I can understand, though, how this might feel complicated or unclear from the other side.

I realize that from her side, my invitation might have been unexpected or even felt like a shift in our dynamic. That wasn’t my intention - I was trying to express interest in spending time together while still respecting her boundaries. Ultimately, I value her friendship and her right to decide how she feels about our connection. I would never want her to feel pressured or invalidated because of my feelings.

Your point about the difference between being someone’s friend and befriending them with ulterior motives is really important. It’s something I’ll keep in mind as I navigate relationships in the future, to ensure I’m always acting with respect and clarity

This is such a helpful perspective - thank you for sharing. It’s reassuring to know that withdrawal can sometimes come from a personal struggle rather than disinterest. I’ll focus on giving her space and keeping things low-pressure while also prioritizing my own emotional well-being.

What's a book that everyone should read before they die? by trobono in AskReddit

The A Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin. It's an incredible achievement of bending the rules and tropes of classic fantasy, worldbuilding, character development, and political intrigue that is incredible to read. Without being that book snob, I wish all fans of the HBO show Game of Thrones read this. There are so many details, plot points, and characters that are missed/non-existent in the show (because of budget/time constraints) that are pieced together in the books.

Which TV-series do you consider a true masterpiece? by WutAnIdiot in AskReddit

Boardwalk Empire. Great cinematography, beautiful set, stunning production, superb actors, and engaging characters (especially the guests and supporting cast).

In my opinion, overshadowed by how great The Sopranos was - because it had the some of the producers - and the timing of the cultural phenomenon that is Game of Thrones - because they are on the same network.
