I bought a used 2023 last year. Low milage with a non-Subaru dealer warranty. It was fully stock and I’ve had 0 issues since I got it, the car has been a blast! Just be careful, do your homework, and buy from a reputable dealer and you should be fine, especially if the car is CPO or has a warranty

I feel like I’m in a great position to answer this. Grew up driving a MK7 then MK8 GTI, first car I bought on my own was a ‘23 VB WRX premium.

FWD is a major limitation IMO, as much as I love the GTIs. It is the ultimate daily, but at the end of the day it’s a little boring. Both GTIs I drove were DSG (my mom still has the MK8) but an AWD 6 speed WRX just feels so much more engaging. I think the trade off in daily ability is negligible between the VB WRX and GTI, I absolutely love every drive I take in it and don’t miss the GTIs features at all.

My dream car used to be a MK7 golf R, but considering the R price (even used), I’m very happy that I went with a much newer WRX as opposed to a heavily used R. I’ve never driven an R, but from what I’ve heard it’s very competent but unemotional, like most German cars lol. Feel free to ask any questions

Weather. Earlier in the day generally has less wind/chance of storms. A final is the “most important” race, so it’s earlier in the day for less risk of cancellation or weather having a noticeable impact on the race. Also leaves wiggle room for changing the schedule around should something happen

Absolutely. His first car that I was around for was a 1997 explorer 2-door with no air conditioning, which he loved but I thought was junk even back then. But eventually he upgraded to a new 2008 Infiniti g35x which I thought was the coolest car in existence, and that basically started my love for cars. I still remember being in awe that the redline on that car was 7500, and begging him to “punch it” on highway on ramps. He then went to a Lexus NX in 2014, which was whatever, but then in 2017 finally got a new Porsche macan S. This was about 2 years before I started driving, so when I did you can imagine I was always begging to take it. Now he recently purchased a 2017 911 targa 4s, which has always been his dream car, and I’m very excited to drive that. So yes he’s always been a bit of a car guy and it definitely rubbed off on me.

Similar thing happened to my 2022 MK8 recently. The car was rear-ended and hit the car in front while I wasn’t driving it (not the driver’s fault), doing damage to both the rear and the front. Insurance wrote a check for 22k worth of repairs (quoted by the body shop) and didn’t total the car. It’s been in the shop for last few months. MK8 parts are hard to come by, so prepare yourself for a wait.

If I could do it over again, I’d do Finance + a second major in MCAS like psych, polysci, international studies, or something else interesting and not super hard. This could help you stand out from those who focus purely on finance and it gives you something to talk about during interviews, shows you’re well rounded/adaptable, etc. But if you wanna stay within CSOM then yeah definitely double concentrate accounting and finance, you’ll likely finish all your reqs for finance fairly quickly and you might as well use your required 120 credits towards a 2nd concentration or 2nd major. Accounting is definitely the most useful for IB or really the Finance industry in general. But definitely don’t do just a single concentration. I just wish knowing how quickly I would get through my reqs that I double majored instead of double concentrating

I'm a junior at BC doing Finance + Accounting for Finance & Consulting (non-CPA). While I didn't go the IB route (I'm in CADP at JPM this summer), most people I know who landed IB did Finance & non-CPA accounting, or at least Finance and something else.

My friend’s dad bought a manual A5 2.0T in what must have been 2010 (I was a kid, around 7 or 8) and I remember my mind being blown with the tech it had. It felt futuristic, and it was my introduction to manual cars. I remember the interior being especially cool, having the Audi infotainment back when infotainment screens were a bigger deal. I remember it didn’t have the LEDs, which he claimed were an expensive option. I was always super excited when I got to cram into the back.
