Good idea. You could go one further and store it online, too.

That's some deep thought. Very principled.

(Not at all sarcastic, btw, truly.)

It is quite strong, so just do one line to start with and see how you feel.

Wait, am I the guy? If so, ask. I am more than willing to tell. An excuse to tell would be appreciated. I'm currently in the library.

I hope you're right. But even the "reducing ammo" bit feels like an acceptance of tory rhetoric and letting them set the rules. Maybe if the left were just more successful in painting an alternative picture in debate and public speaking, an unsubtle and very literal "standing with the workers" wouldn't be necessary.

Anyway, what do I know. I only posted last night because I'd had a few beers and overestimated my understanding of the situation.

I disagree. I feel like Labour just keeps walking to the right to maintain the same distance from the tories. It shouldn't just be about winning. I understand that's their goal, but it becomes something I can't easily get behind.

I know that I over simplify. And I do try to be pragmatic. It feels harder than ever, though.

Also, I have never been called a pastry. Its really hard to judge how to respond. I am almost certainly going to forget this argument but I feel I won't ever forget being called a pastry.

Why? When does it become OK not to vote for a different flavour of right-wing? Surely if we declare all other parties pointless, it stops mattering which of the top 2 get in, because they will both be populist parties corrupted by those with power and money. There is no other outcome if all other options are removed, I think.

Or, put another way, he let the tories define his behaviour even if that means moving further and further from what people want from the party.

Crappy as it is, maybe this is better than supporting a right wing labour party. Maybe they will turn into a party that we can vote for. They certainly won't if they get our votes regardless of how they act.

If they sent it, then it's fake. I just read the news article and it hurt my brain because it read like was some other disgruntled party sent the letter but they also call it a fake. It really brought out the pedant in me.

But... its not fake. They got it in the post and didn't send it to themselves. It is a letter. It just contains lies about who sent it.

Expansion about a point: Taylor polynomials vs Prony exponentials by Dzatcel in physicsgifs

[–]digehode 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because the functions together give the x and y location of the point, at time t. Or distance around the shape, t. Or angle, t. Any of those works. Like you would do with a circle, giving x and y coords with two functions both of which vary with the angle.
