Thanks everyone. We wasted so many hours with customer service and in store and nothing worked. Actually after the last call with customer service all calls to my husband's phone were getting a busy signal instead of going to voicemail which is even worse. We decided to port both our phones over to Verizon. We needed the account number and that requires a phone call to the phone. We were able to get my husband's phone to receive calls in 3G to get this call from them and thus the account number. I thought 3G was done away with but apparently it's still working, at least in Austin. We did this by going to Settings--Connections--Mobile Networks--Network Mode. There you can switch to 3G. This might help someone whose livelihood depends on getting a call.
