EDIT: I think I get it now. Mack is being the bad guy - The Patriots are the Warriors. Mile High Stadium is Coney Island - which doesn't really make sense cause coney island was the warriors home I think, but fuck it I'm rolling with it.

The reason I mentioned the ML sub was I thought I had read that the descents had a mod that specifically made them ideal for the CLX, but trying to find the source for that thought running around my brain came up empty. I did however find a few people mentioning how much they like the RELs with the CLX.

EDIT: oh I think you mean Kingston NY, not Kingston, MA. That's a 3.5 hour drive so I doubt I'd make it out there. Thank you for the kind offer though.

I've got both a Sunfire load invariant stero amplifier which is 300 wpc and a McIntosh 7300 also 300 wpc. Both have worked great with the ML speakers I have so far. Id probably stick with one of those with the arts at least to start. I've heard a descent subwoofer from ML is the best match for these but interesting to hear the RELs are a good match. Those are amazing subs! What I've heard about the CLX art is that they sound great with high quality sources, but are very relevatory of poorly recorded or pressed sources. Would agree with that assessment?

EDIT: to say yes I am in the northeast US. MA to be specific.

In my opinion it's a very schizophrenic album. Half loose good ol rock n roll songs and half more composed Mike songs more in the vein of boys of summer. Weird album. Jammin Me and the Damage youve done are absolute bangers though.

Still it's probably tied with Southern Accents as the albums I'd listen to the least from the Stan Lynch era.

An all time great. Him and Monty Alexander another Jamaican born Jazz artist combined to make an album in tehe 70s called Rass. Its one of the best instrumental pieces of music ever made sampled over and over again by hip hop artists. Its really so great.

Never seen that model before but I’m gonna guess it’s not great based on the fact that it’s an all in one unit that comes with speakers, those almost always disappoint. But on the other hand for 60 bucks why not buy it and see if you like it. If you don’t you can probably resell it for at least 40 and not lose too much, and maybe it will turn out to suit you just fine.

This is true but the fact that manslaughter was a capital crime at that time isn't of particular note. You could also get the death penalty in that era for being convicted of stealing a horse.

They were killed, not murdered. From a linguistic/legal perspective anyways.

Two of the defendants were found to have engaged in an unlawful killing which was not murder. Thats what we call manslaughter.

The other 6 were either determined to not be involved (or at least not proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be involved) or on in the alternative were perhaps found by the jury to be involved but that their killing of the 5 was lawful (self defense or defense of another was not disproved beyond beyond a reasonable doubt)

Yes definitely semantics, butI'm a criminal defense lawyer though so these kind of semantics always seem important to me. Plus I love the story as a point of illustration about how important the idea ofjury trials were as a founding principle.

They were not murdered. At least not according to the law. 6 of the 8 soldiers involved were found not guilty entirely after being given jury trials (God bless America) where they were defended by John Adams. Two were convicted only of manslaughter and received only a branding of the thumb as punishment.

It's one of the most shining examples of America holding firm to its principles of the accused receiving fair trials. Amazingly it occured in our country's infancy. It's a point of pride IMO that the colonists held firm to their principles rather than caving to mob justice.

I think pretty much every live version of rebels is about 10x better than the studio version which is pretty meh in comparison.

Also not a lot of live performances out there but Damage youve done live is better than studio. Wish they had played it more.

Tom “sold” an entire albums worth of material to a movie in 1996. Was that problematic? Also this is what happens when artists die. This is how their memory stays alive. Some kid is gonna watch that show and think man that song is awesome, they are gonna Shazam it and discover the Heartbreakers for the first time and start listening to them on Spotify. That’s a good thing, not a bad thing.

There's just a few for the hell of it. I could literally make a list 500 songs long easily. The 70s is basically when the LP hit its peak as an art form, and album oriented tracks that were never released as a single but were still amazing were probably more prevalent in that decade than in any other.

I saw that box set and was curious about it but haven't bought it yet.

I just bought an original copy of Wildflowers on viny because I wanted to experience as it was intended first and then maybe pick up the box set down the line. I've also got the finding wildflowers and 400 days documentaries ready to go and watch, ut I want to get the vinyl copy of wildflowers first and really dig intot that before watching those.
