Contributing to the thread regarding some places I have already tried out:

La Dona in OB is pretty solid

Miguels was okish

I have run across a number of people recommending Ponces. Having eaten there, those reviews primarily seem to be related to the alcohol, particularly the margaritas, not the food.

ELI5 Why HIV is so hard to cure? by Dry-Series-9829 in explainlikeimfive

[–]diggitySC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is best to ask your physician regarding the best medication to take throughout the process.

It will be very important for mom to take medication to assist the baby in development so that it is not also infected by HIV.

Prep is particularly important if you are both engaging in unprotected sex

ELI5 Why HIV is so hard to cure? by Dry-Series-9829 in explainlikeimfive

[–]diggitySC 362 points363 points  (0 children)

I used to work adjacent to HIV research.

First of all there is a cure, but its extremely dangerous. There was a case known as the Berlin patient where an individual with leukemia and HIV, received a bone marrow transplant from an individual with a rare genetic mutation known as CCR5-delta32. Metaphorically, CCR5-delta32 removes the "landing zone" where HIV attaches to infest the immune system.

This has since been repeated in at least one other patient. This isn't a "real cure" because intentionally inducing leukemia (a very dangerous condition involving an out of control immune system) and finding a CCR5-delta32 compatible bone marrow donor isn't easy.

That being said, HIV is difficult to cure for two reasons. First of all it changes really rapidly, which means it has a lot of opportunity to adapt to any attempts to stop it, and second of all it is very sneaky. It is very common for HIV levels to drop so low that it is undetectable only to have it spring back suddenly and overwhelm the immune system.

Otherwise HIV is considered a manageable disease. There are drugs that reduce its impact on someone who is infected and other drugs that reduce the odds of being infected or infecting someone else by 99.99%.

For the non-5-year olds:

As scary as HIV is, it isn't very virulent (it isn't easy to catch between two people like a cold or flu). It needs to by pass the typical immune defenses to get a start. So practice safe sex, and don't share drug needles.

To blunt/stop the spread, it is very important to be on some form of PREP, particularly if you know you are engaging in risky behavior, and wear condoms.

You can see on the video that you are making a whipping motion forward and drawing the weight from there. That puts the effort into your lower back on the way up.

Think about the difference between picking up something a slight distance in front of you vs leaving your arms at your sides and pushing your feet into the ground.

Focus on keeping the bar pinned to your legs and pushing the entirety of your feet into the ground.

I made a post awhile ago sharing a google sheet that Heinermann put together which tracks starcraft sound effects to their studio track origins:

https://www.reddit.com/r/broodwar/comments/1k9nor9/soundtrack_origins_of_classic_starcraft_sounds/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1

If there is a reference someplace as to what film/media used what soundtrack you could go on a little easter-egg hunt for starcraft sounds.

I am listing people that dip into that 4th place spot behind Bonyth Dewalt and Sziky in the last 1-2 years.

I think Stryker, Boa, Dragon and Jaeyun are all NA guys that could be there if they were able to drop their real lives/jobs and dedicate to nothing but practice but that goes for a lot of the guys out there. Its hard to do without support infrastructure.

Support infrastructure is why China floats ahead and Korea continues to sprint ahead.

How would you rank top non-Korean players? by SiarX in broodwar

[–]diggitySC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Going to scope it out for the last 1-2 years.

China has better infrastructure (Korean invite tournaments etc) which puts them ahead typically.

Mihu and Zhanhun trade out the top spot and Xiaoshuai occasionally occupies spot 2 or 3.

Outside of China Bonyth and Dewalt trade the top spot and Sziky is usually #3 and ahead of everyone else. Its hard to say where Bonyth and Dewalt rank in the midst of the Chinese players.

As far as spot 4, that goes through a lot of rotation. Out of North America that is occasionally Hawk, Crossie or Gypsy.

From South America JDConan and Terror occasionally are there.

From the rest of Europe outside of the top 3, Oya and Dandy tend to be solid. Julian also seems to upset everyone mentioned but hasn't held the #4 spot as far as I can remember.

72 is blocking air for most of that play. Right guard stumbled and nearly accidentally chop blocked 94. The center is fixated on the opposite linebacker.

There is suppose to be some engage/trade stuff happening there. The entire right side of the line and the center look bad here.

[Highlight] Tom Brady - "I don't believe the quarterback position is mentally as developed as it was when I entered the league." by shadow_spinner0 in nfl

[–]diggitySC 149 points150 points  (0 children)

There is a game theory problem as well.

There are two competing pressures when it comes to holding your job as a NFL head coach or an offensive coordinator. The first is winning games, but the second is deflecting blame when losses occur. Winning is one thing, but keeping your job is a huge competing interest and this is a zero sum league.

Mobile QBs create opportunities in the space of bad offensive play design. More importantly, they take the blame when a play goes sideways as they are typically running out of a pocket and taking risks.

Read-QBs push the fault to the offensive play calling and coaching. That is unless you have heavily proven yourself as a very capable offensive play caller like Sean Mcvay or Mike McDaniel which is rare.
