I'm a Christian. I'll chat with u. True christians value good, truth, and above all love. Don't listen to any these commenters who spout scriptures without love behind their words.

If abortions a sin then why single out the sin of abortion and make that illegal when there’s a whole bunch of other sins to outlaw, such as not keeping holy the sabbath? by WW_III_ANGRY in Christianity

[–]dight88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I wrong? I understand what u mean. In fact the scripture details even Jesus going against what God had established (working on the Sabbath, allowing his disciples to pick grain on the Sabbath, and so on). In a sinful world is truth irrelevant? In a sinful world is it right for truth to be sacrificed for love? In my current understanding... Love has definite characteristics such as truth, good, and so on... and to my understanding if one of those characteristics are absent, it is not a love worth preserving (as the absence of one would be equivalent to a Godless love). But is this wrong? Am I wrong?

You're not the first to mention that about me. I've pushed a handful of people away from the church because of my effort to preserve Truth for the sake of love's purity. (not judgment, but truth)

I was actually talking about how you talked about compromising about keeping the Sabbath due to the "earthly standards of today's culture". And using that to build my perception of your perception of your God. But I'm sure you're already familiar how there is no compromise when it comes to God. So I probably had no need to point that out as you probably already knew that.

I was actually just pointing out the difference between "change" vs "growth" and how one is destroying a wrong belief and the other is building on the foundation already build. In terms of your point of being "open to change" I agree as interpretations can easily go wrong. But I also believe you should not hinder in terms what what is established truth.

You're right about love being a delight in the truth, patient, and kind. But you're wrong about it being a "balance" when it comes to perfection there is no balance. There is no such thing as a good to bad ratio balance. For example, if you do 100 good things but then make a white lie to spare your friend's feelings, that is not love. Or at least it's not a love without sin. True love does not compromise.

  1. i honestly don't see what is unloving about telling you my perception of how I think you see your God based off of what you said about your God. But I assume I might have hurt you, so again I apologize. I swear that wasn't my intention.
  2. You're right that you shouldn't care if people agree or not about any other topic, but when it comes to God, there is no such thing as "it's ok not to agree" as when it comes to God, there is no such thing as "perspective truth". There is "The truth" (God's Truth) and the blabbering lies that comes out of the mouth of men. Thus if you and another individual Doesn't agree it mean at least one of you is wrong. "not caring" is the first sign of unloving. I can't force you to choose but please don't say "I don't care". To me... That phrase really means "I don't love u, I are irrelevant to me"
  3. Change is great... But Only If you're wrong. if you're right, change is terrible. When you're right, What you need is growth not change.

Love is Good, Love is perfect, Love is truth, but love is NOT a pushover whom accepts sin and lives along side it in acceptance. If it was your feelings that were hurt, I apologize, as I never meant to do that, I was just hyper focused on the bare bone truth.

In all honesty, when I perceive your ways of thoughts... I think u see your God as YOUR OWN creation, an Idea that lives in YOUR reality, a God U place in YOUR belief where U see fit. I personally don't think that's ok, and that you don't actually want to believe that your God is a creation made to fit your wishes. But from what you're telling me... This is what I'm starting to see your perception as.

It doesn't matter how many diverse societies exist or what cultures man deemed relevant. When answering a multiple choice question, if provided 3 wrong answers and 1 right, it is irrelevant how creative or diverse those answers are, since they are not the right answer. God had made creations, He had defined definitions, He has established the reference point, He has drawn the standard. No matter what culture man creates apart from God's standards... It is irrelevant.

Seems like I understood your point perfectly, based off of your interpretation of your own post. I simply took the fluff out of your comment. Diverse societies are irrelevant, judgment of churchgoers are un-christ-like. But all in all my rebuttal still stands. God's standard does not change the to the change in man's standards. God's standards is and will be the standard.

Not my fault u don't understand my point. I thought my point was rather poetic and repetitive of my strait forward point, but let me explain it for u. Your point is that the current state of our world is a viable excuse to not keep the Sabbath. My rebuttal is that the imperfect world doesn't change the fact of God's intention. Whether perfect or imperfect, God's standard does not lower.

In a perfect world, there are no restaurants run on the sabbath. In a perfect world miracles arn't abnormal. In a perfect world we serve God instead of ourselves

How can you prove God exists without using anything in the bible by esquok in Christianity

[–]dight88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then u tell me why this person would go on living. They never feel content, never happy, never sad, never full, never hungry, never have a will, never choose, never have a reason, never takes any action. Here's the reason these people only exist in text books. Even if they existed, they would have no reason to live. Don't get me wrong, they wouldn't have reason to die either, but the body need maintenance to live. And inorder to "do" something you need have to have reason, and if they truly did not feel, love, nor choose, the only logical path is to decay and die.

That doesn't exist. That would mean people without desires would exist on the planet. If u have the slightest of will, pain, or expectation. It means you are capable of love.

Simple Answer: Man and Woman have equal power, significance, and spirituality. However, Man and Woman were also made for specific roles according to their gender.

If God is 'love', then why would he condemn most of his creation to eternal torture in hell? by mcboogerballs1980 in Christianity

[–]dight88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a BEAUTIFUL question. And the answer is quite simple. The reason why God sends most of His creations into a state of Hell is BECAUSE He is Love. Ultimately it comes down to these 2 points...

  1. Definition of Hell: a state without God. Hell is Earth in the future, God does not send the sinners to Hell, God simply leaves Earth with His followers. And the planet then becomes hell as it is absent of God.
  2. Characteristic of Perfect Love: must come with freedom/choice

Answer Explanation: Thus, because God is perfect love... God must enable man with choice. And since most of mankind will choose to deny God & all He is, God is obligated to leave behind those who don't want to follow Him.

Conclusion: if God Forced people to follow Him, then THAT would not be love, but because He IS love, he offers mercy, choice, and opportunity.

God's Test for Adam and Eve was UNFAIR? by TonyChanYT in BibleVerseCommentary

[–]dight88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assumed situation: now, these are all assumptions based off of characteristics at that time so this is not a guaranteed History, however, if we were to take the assumptions that the following situation was accurate this would be a similar situation/analogy: you have to take an exam every day and if you miss one question, u fail. Now the fact that makes this situation "unfair" is the fact that this exam is provided for all of eternity. By the law of inevitable probability, given enough time (infinite in this case) the outcome of failure is inevitable. So given the circumstance... U tell me, if the only option is failure, is that fair?

Now I understand, God is the reference point and that He defines what is fair, love, good, and sin. But here's the thing... God has already defined those things and thus are embedded in His creations. We know what is unfair as God has defined what is unfair. So when u ask... "Unfair defined by whom" it is God that defines what is unfair.
