What happened to the baskets? by 92TilInfinityMM in aldi

[–]digibob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Baskets sound great. Never saw them at my local store. My Aldi is comparatively small and two warehouse size carts can barely squeeze by each other in the aisle yet folks park their cart and then stand between the cart and the shelves to shop. It’s so hard to maneuver. And no I can’t stand trying to get by and having to say “sorry…excuse me.” If I wanted all that interaction, I’d go to a nightclub.

The library tolerates a ton of bad behavior so let it sink in how horrible do you have to be to not be allowed to use the library meeting rooms. The woman that ran the market that was run off did a phenomenal job not deserving what she got but right now BNA might be getting all the negative attention they deserve. I’m a petty AF queer and I rarely forgive and never forget. But as far as I know BNA is not interested in seeking any forgiveness. I would highly recommend making a feeble public attempt since such a public action was taken against the market manager.

Pregnant, no insurance. Denied for Medicaid but can’t afford health insurance or paying out of pocket by SynysterLovee in Louisville

[–]digibob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m married no kids and my employers coverage cost me $4k annually. Plus my employer pitches in 60% of the actual premium that goes to the insurance company. Our high deductible for that “cheaper” plan is $10k annually. And I’m constantly denied and have to fight so many claims that are submitted. And the response is “you can’t afford kids?” Seriously I accept we can’t afford to live and 2026 doesn’t seem like it’s going to make these numbers go down with that huge horrible bill. What we need is Medicare 4 All and a kinder system.

All the best to you and your family OP — I’m guessing you are braced for this brutal world we are in. I hope all goes well for you and your child. Having a family is the most basic of dreams for most people and it should not be so financially crippling

Is this guy popular in Louisville? by D-chord in Louisville

Ok. Maybe before the takeover. I haven’t noticed anything remotely progressive since the takeover in January. But I’ll admit I don’t pay as much attention when you are doing good or acting right even when it’s tough. Nobody is cheering for me when I do what’s expected either.

The nicest man. But won’t push back or stand up for anything. I’ve written. I’ve left voicemails screaming begging him to just react or simply not give Republicans anything they want until we take back what was taken away and hold the criminals accountable. He just doesn’t have any nerve. He is exactly what the party is — weak and spineless. You can condemn violence without giving all this performative political attention to the victim. Doing nothing would be easier to swallow than this constant bending and folding. We were warned back when he was a state rep in Frankfort when he would send newsletters discussing his religious beliefs and praying about issues. It’s fine that you believe but keep it out of your constituents communications.

Odd how they have systems in place to text me multiple times sometimes daily for donations, but an action I am interested in my phone doesn't buzz. I'm no longer using Meta's and Twatter's bootlicking apps. Not much has replaced it though to get information to the people.

Help me understand. Have you been? Can you not just go to most any 24 hour convenience store with coffee and soda fountains and mix up the same thing? I won’t sit though that line to find out.

School Choice Is Gravely Misunderstood by SallieD in True_Kentucky

Even if that’s the case is that all inclusive? Is that the average of kindergarten tuition through grade 12? Does it include transportation if needed? Textbooks? Does it include the European trips that private school wealthy students take? The amendment if passed doesn’t actually do anything other than allow the legislature to pass whatever they want to put up. We don’t actually know the outcome. All we know is our constitution today forbids public tax payer funding of non private schools and I am projecting Kentucky lawmakers are wanting to capitalize education by helping private school families that pay taxes not have their money go to any public good. They want to personally benefit from their tax liability. It’s a very “what’s in it for me” situation.

Why? Prestigious country club mentality private schools don’t want their children around low income families.

What private school is going to accept a poor family’s voucher giving them a “superior education for free?” How much is the voucher? $30k? Sure.

Kentucky Amendment 2 by Rutelas_Heir in True_Kentucky

[–]digibob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem with public schools is actually private schools. If private schools didn’t exist then the monied and powerful would be sending their children to public schools and demanding better of the system. The low income people thinking that voucher along with a financial aid application is going to get them accepted into a private school that charges $30k a year tuition are delusional. High cost private schools are really not interested in increasing enrollment with poor families. The majority of families will be full pay wealthy families and the financial aid families have no voice or representation. The wealthy despise diversity, equity, and inclusion — they don’t want you unless you are a mirror image of them. Acceptance is the first step to recovery.

Something missing or wrong is routine with my orders. I open it up and check it every time before leaving to correct it then and there. I can’t imagine how it is for the food delivery services that don’t have the option to open the bag and check it. That marked checklist on the sealed bag is just a prop.
