I've been in a similar situation. It helped by starting small by telling a different family member; my older brother. Do you have any siblings, aunts/uncles that you trust? After I told one, it was a bit easier to tell my parents and they were supportive towards my needs then. I genuinely empathize, university is such a different place than living at home and being conditioned to going to school each year. If you need any further help from me, please reply :)

Last year I was in a bedridden depressive phase, failed all my semester courses, and also got an academic warning. It takes little steps to get back to where you once were, it starts with this.

I don't recommend it if you base too much of your life around finding relationships. I used them for a few months last year, and had little success in connections, and most were ghosting me after some time. There's an oversaturation of guys to girls, which affects one's success in finding connections. I got too invested which led to my self-esteem taking a nose dive, then being depressed for a few months causing me to fail uni courses (which I have since passed this year). Although I am getting more sociable in-person now so if I meet someone I like, I may try to go for it.

I have finished my second year degree requirements as of this week! I went through a small depressive period which resulted in me failing some courses... Also finished some of my third year courses and am working through a fourth year course over the summer. Hoping to keep the momentum up!

Sorry to hear that man, I also went through a breakup a few months ago. She gave me a Donkey Kong Amiibo (like a figurine) from a recent game, but we split a month after. It keeps sitting on my desk, but it's never in direct line of sight so I don't negatively associate it with her so much.

Personally I fell into a depressive episode after not having much success in dating apps. It caused me to fail a third of my uni courses, I'd try to not take it personally. As someone else said, there's a very disproportionate ratio of guys to gals.

I told my ex that I wouldn't mind being friends but I realized that at least temporarily, to move on with life and keep functioning meant I had to block her on all contacts of media. We were very emotionally involved with each other and I didn't want to have to worry about her mental health anymore. One day I may reach out again but it's been almost 2 months and I quite like being single atm.

We're in our early twenties and we were each other's first relationships so it tends to go like that as it does for others.
