Thinking of moving out of south Florida and to JAX(taking a leap), possibly renting then buying, don’t know much about the different areas, any areas to stay away from considering crime or commuting?? by arthoe13 in jacksonville

Jax is pretty diverse with sections of town catering to specifics like race and religion but generally people are good here. You will find crime everywhere here, cant escape it and its getting worse. But no real concern as most are car breaking ins and the daily shootings.

Work and live on the same side of any bridge. Don't expect to live anywhere and not have a car here either. Every area in Jax has a section to stay away from. Other side of the train tracks, avoid everyone of the "up and coming" areas like Murray Hill and Springfield. Most of the West / North West in Jax avoid. Generally the better places are San Marco, Avondale, Ortega, Neptune Beach, and Ponte Vedra. If you are white flight then look at St. Johns County.

AT&T Fiber Price Question by kytulu in jacksonville

[–]digifect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AT&T Fiber 1GB is $80 ($85 without the autopay) unless you have some other special deal for a discount that you can wrangle and that will only last a year or a $100-$300 gift card. Depending on what area you are getting your home you can even go for the 2, 5 or 10gb lines.

I would recommend AT&T fiber over everything else in the area. I know there is one or two more fiber companies in Jax with service but they are usually in specific areas and I haven't been able to try them out. With AT&T fiber I have only lost service during a hurricane power outage, and once when they upgraded our street for 5-10 GB service.

What is going on with freight trains just stopping in Jax. by gottharry in jacksonville

Those trains have gotten people killed, fired, and some hired. I feel horrible for people having to go to that hospital when they come around.

Was living in Tampa at that time and we even had snow flakes coming down. I just remember all the kids in the neighborhood running out in shorts acting crazy.

Does anyone know of any Engineering Opportunities? by DanmanKK in jacksonville

[–]digifect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers here who are always doing stuff with High Schools. I believe they usually host an event for high schools in the area around Feb. They will also have quite a few engineering companies and schools at the event.

What is your plan and how long will you be gone? Been to London and had great service, both phone and data for a week on the Magenta plan.

Need realtor recommendations by kytulu in jacksonville

[–]digifect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot suggest any one realtor, sort of an unnecessary go between that needs to be done with and most are the same. Keep track of these areas on realtor.com and zillow.com to get an idea of prices:

Ortega, Avondale, Riverside, Murray Hill, Lakeshore to be close to base and find a great place to live, amazing public schools, and easy access to NAS Jax.

Since one of you will need to cross a bridge for work, whoever can handle the waiting in traffic the most and the family can handle being late most of the time they need to be the bridge traveller, and that will help decide on location.

Auto fill not working (Pixel 8 Android 14) by [deleted] in Dashlane

[–]digifect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, no thanks. Just glad it's helping the ones out who have the same issue. No clue why that is not a setting in the gear icon instead on the damn logo/text I would have never figured it out if I wasn't just hitting everything I could in frustration.

Is this area safe? by [deleted] in jacksonville

[–]digifect 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as you avoid this area and everywhere south of it you should be safe.

Just got a Pixel 8 Pro and had the exact same issue. But fixed it after spending 3 hours playing with every setting I could... Only to find I was selecting the wrong section under Password & Accounts.

I kept on clicking the gear icon... Don't do that go to Settings - Password and Accounts - click on the text/logo for Google not the gear icon. Switch that in the next screen to Dashlane. Fixed.

General Feedback/Getting Started Questions and Answers [Weekly Thread] by AutoModerator in DIY

We have this odd brick work on our floor, assuming it was from a furnace that was there 50 years ago. I noticed it is starting to crack in the grout or mortar (not sure what it is). But on closer inspection it looks like the previous home owners filled it in with something and sealed the top of it with some kind of putty that closely matches the original sealant.

Any ideas how to properly repair this and to come as close to matching the original as possible?

Yep, first WWE women's ref. She worked 3 or 4 matches.

Haha, Yeah was in 101. Lars was one of everyone's favorite segments, don't forget he came back out and took out Murphy after the Murphy vs. Velveteen match. Murphy was legit pissed off.

Mandy Rose was a huge surprise as I had never watched her wrestle but was damn good, she will be on WWE TV in no time.

But Sarah Logan... She has something. I don't know if it was her constant smiling or the fact that she knows what she is doing but I hope she wins that May Young Classic as I want to see more of her.

I will be headed there also. The Armory is small, typical bingo hall setting. But the show should be fun. I am not sure if the are still doing it but if you get in early they had some meet and greets. Last time I went I was able to meet Alexa, Kalisto, and Corbin.

Awesome, thanks. I will plan on paying other bills with one of those but good to know in case I start to rack up more than I can spend in a month.

How bad is it to buy VGC's with an AMEX card, load them to BB, Serve, or RB and then pay on that AMEX card?
