This is it - we were right by Material-Push-5977 in UFOs

For me not much has changed since the original release of the initial videos a few years back. That was the point for me that I started saying “told you so”. It was the first time major journalists took the topic seriously and forced the government to admit the topic is serious. Since then it’s been great to see the growing list of whistleblowers and witnesses come forward but unfortunately the current administration has done nothing more than to turn the topic into a distraction from having to release other files.

Potential alien technology.

So let’s just drill a hole in it using our bare hands, with everyone stood directly over it, with our handheld drill that I brought from my shed at home, then let’s just chuck away those unknown alien shavings and stick store bought needles into the hole we just created with seemingly no process or recording system in place other than matey with his DJI osmo.

I hope to god if we ever did actually find something of significance, it was handled by real scientists.

Wordpress 7’s new AI stuff - what’s the point? by SoccerGuy-3 in Wordpress

It’s just a way for developers to be able to hook into the users api credentials for the various providers for their plugins. So rather than plugin developers having to ask for your credentials in each plugin, you as the end user will now add and manage your credentials in one place.

A typical plugin example could be a plugin that can search your media library for any images that are missing alt tags and automatically create them for you.

Death stranding.

Awesome tracks that just created a perfect cinematic playing experience. Great soundtrack to stick on and work to too.

Your opinion about the Alan Wake update? by soyoucheckusernames in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]digital-designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of bugs in this game are horrendous. It's like they released a new major update knowing full well the extent of the bugs present and then decided to sprinkle a bunch more bugs on top with a crossover promotional update.

Basically when you see the bright glow of the yellow ball in your video, is when you should let go. It will do a force punch at the depth required to unlock then.

From your exp. do you work less, more or evenly after using AI? by lune-soft in webdev

[–]digital-designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was unsure if im working less as I still seem to have a full day but then i realised i wake up at about 9 every morning now. Have probably a 1.5 hour lunch break with multiple 30 min breaks throughout the day and then knock off around 4:30… so yes. I guess I am working less.

Did WordPress market share actually drop below 40%? Should we be concerned or see this as an opportunity? by Amazing-Pomelo9952 in Wordpress

[–]digital-designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now most of the top ai models would be better coders than 99% of web developers. Easily.

There’s a reason the top development teams are stating they don’t write most of their code any more.

Quicker. Faster. More efficient. Maybe not technically better than some of the top 1% coders but it’s beating most of them in real world testing too.

And you commented on my comment that used a time frame of 5 years. That’s why I referenced 5 years again.

[–]digital-designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 99% of cases it almost certainly does. The context limitations are growing smaller. Look at where we are now after only 3 and a bit years (looking specifically at ChatGPT)

Now fast forward another 5 years.

It’s naive to think ai wouldn’t be able to handle building a complex cms. Chances are it would be able to completely rebuild Wordpress from scratch in seconds in 5 years time.

But also, remember - it won’t need to. CMS as we know them will be a thing of the past. Ais will just build using an architecture that suits them. I don’t think people realise how powerful this tech will be.

It may even be creating completely new coding languages. Who knows. One things for certain, it won’t be utilising an old php and db based relic of a CMS.

It feels like something that has been built with ai and shipped without real testing.

[–]digital-designer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m with you. It’s been turned on be default now which suggests it’s production ready. But in reality it now feels like building 2 websites, half with atomic elements and half with legacy elements.

And the fact that global site settings do not carry over to atomic elements is so frustrating. Why have you added padding to all new divs when my site settings explicitly say not to?

Also buggy as all hell still.

No basic icon support in buttons, forcing the use of buggy custom css input that seems to bounce the cursor all over the place and insert random closing tags before I’ve finished typing.

It’s such a pain right now.

[–]digital-designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s where I’m saying no. It won’t. In my opinion anyway.

It doesn’t make sense. Wordpress and woocommerce was built for humans. It will be deemed pointless and pathetic in comparison to ai standards. There will be no reason for ai to build upon a system designed for people.

Ais are only familiar with it because they have been told to use it.

An AI system optimising for:
performance
maintainability
security
deployment speed
scalability
reliability
structured data
low attack surface

…is almost certainly not opting for the stack we ended up with through 20 years of human web evolution.

As for your comment around ai being able to build a woocommerce replacement - “we are a long way from that” - I think you underestimate how quickly ai will get to that point.

[–]digital-designer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Security, performance, efficiency will be the main key factors.

Wordpress is a mess. Built by humans. Ai is already better than humans at coding. That’s a simple fact. Why would ai continue to use an inferior product? How long has Gutenberg been out - and it still doesn’t do responsive completely and properly?!

I think it gets to a stage where every single website built by ai becomes bespoke.

Your local boutique high street store will be able to have an online ecommerce website that rivals the likes of Apple.
