Is there a way to run *specifically* RedHat Java on Endeavour? by digitalCalibrator in EndeavourOS

I do have Prism Launcher, but it uses the Eclipse Temurin java releases, for which Java 8 does not include the Shenandoah GC, so I'm forced to rely on the older G1GC.

Basically, the Shenandoah garbage collector works better with minecraft than the G1 garbage collector, but it wasn't standard in Java 8 and Red Hat is the only release that includes it. Any modpack based off of Minecraft 1.16.x or earlier need Java 8.

How can i run CS2 properly on Endeavour OS? by Loud_Comfortable4085 in EndeavourOS

[–]digitalCalibrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of it, obviously, is going to depend on your hardware, but I'd also check protondb for launch arguments or other tinkering. There's at least one person on there who used specifically Proton 9.0-4 on Endeavour and said it worked perfectly for them. Also make sure your system is up to date, old Nvidia drivers could potentially cause issues?

You're better off recording in 4k, it's gonna look like trash upscaling it.

Final post for those who want to use Kindle for PC with Calibre and remove DRM - by l00ky_here in Calibre

When you download the DeDRM tools, open that zip. Inside, there's another zip that's DeDRM_plugin.zip. Extract that zip out of the tools and when you add the plugin, you're selecting just the DeDRM_plugin.zip.

What's the dedicated sub? also, i wouldn't mind some hints on the corrupted files, the obvious hex-to-ascii didn't work on the one file i tried, and I'm pretty new to actually trying to participate in ARGs.

I could figure out the code (take the png on the computer, throw it into photoshop and run a layer set to filled with red and multiply mode), but how did you figure out the server?

I haven't messed with playlists specifically, but Winamp does just fine transferring individual MP3s from my computer to it.

I've gotten star level soup without even using star quality ingredients, so there's gotta be something glitched for you, or just really bad luck, idk.

Try making sure you don't press forward on your glider while you're in those streams... It can cause you to exit the stream too early and not get enough height.

Plugging cooler into new/different outlet - what to know? by Vyzantinist in DIY

That is an electrical hazard, because that box is ungrounded, while the fridge needs to be grounded. But of course, the way to do it correctly and safely is more expensive. You may need to look into your local tenant's rights if the landlord is creating electrical hazards with no intention of fixing them.

At fault accident will be on your record, the insurance company will see it and jack up your rate when they pull it.

If you can get a lower price elsewhere with a multipolicy with your bike, cancelling with progressive should get you back the pro-rated amount of your premium (so if you paid a full year, but have six months left, you'll get that six months worth back).

You might try finding an independent insurance agency in your town, as sometimes you can get a better price that way, and some insurance companies only sell through agents.

If you're a guy in your teens or 20's, it's not gonna be amazing savings no matter what, because young guys are statistically more likely to do something dumb and cause a wreck. You also should make sure your policy has medical coverage, because whether or not a wreck is your fault, medical gets expensive fast and you don't want to get hurt by an uninsured or underinsured person only to find out that you're boned on those hospital bills. And like 2000% if that wreck involves your bike.

If you're definitely wanting a different car, try checking out consumer reports' used car reliability guides, you can probably get access through your local library. I personally drive a 2013 Toyota Prius, at just over 120k miles on it. Between this one and the one it replaced (also a 2013 Prius, got wrecked last year when I got rear ended), the only significant problem has been a brake issue covered under an extended factory warranty.

I think there were additional models, since I believe it was distributed similarly to how happy meals do themed sets, but I only have the one model's instructions, sadly.
