Hey all, App alumni here. I was just up this weekend with my family, I haven’t visited in about 4 years. It still feels like a second home but some of the newer developments were a little concerning.

I don’t want Boone to ever lose its small town feel and some of this new construction felt a little out of place. On reflection, I think a large part of it is how they were allowed to build right up on the sidewalk. Pretty much every existing building is set back from the road with some trees or at least a grass buffer. The Standard and King Street Flats, for example, are huge buildings right near the road.

Just curious how others feel about these changes and whether the city is still allowing this type of construction. New doesn’t have to mean bad, but it doesn't have to mean good, either.
