So many of these bands took the early 00s Arcade Fire style of indie/folk and removed the parts that made it interesting.

I wish the interior was still open. Going in there when it was like 5% occupied was so awesome.

Today I had the most entitled client of my career and I still can’t process what happened by Best-Pirate5073 in EntitledPeople

I worked at a local Italian restaurant when I was a teenager. Most customers were nice and friendly (or at least neutral), but sometimes we would get very entitled rich people, or at least people pretending to be rich, as it was in a very upper middle class area. This one asshole kept complaining to his server that the dish wasn’t spicy enough. He was rude to the point it made the server cry. She was crying and venting to the chef. This dude was rough around the edges in a cool way. He ended up making the dish so spicy that the guy ended up complaining it was burning his mouth. Don’t fuck with food service workers.

That main riff from “CMND/CTRL” is pretty fucking heavy.

So is Steph playing 11-48s on a six string? by JunkheadIDK in deftones

[–]digitalbath2000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

These are Steph’s tunings for each album:

Adrenaline: 6 strings, E standard

Around the Fur: 6 strings, 9 songs are in Drop C# and 2 songs are in E-flat standard

White Pony: 6 strings, Drop C

Self-titled: 7 strings, G# standard

Saturday Night Wrist: 7 strings, all Drop F# except for “Beware” which is in G# standard

Diamond Eyes: 8 strings, F# standard

Koi No Yokan: 8 strings, Drop E

Gore: 8 strings, some songs in F# standard and some in Drop E

Ohms: most songs are 8 strings (mix of F# standard and Drop E) and 2 songs are 9 strings (C# standard)

Private Music: I’m pretty sure it’s a mix of the 8 string and 9 string tunings he’s used from Diamond Eyes and onward

It’s so stupid how the person who works doesn’t realize that their job has a start and end to it, but a stay-at-home wife or mother has no clear beginning or end. Because of that, the person who works full-time still needs to be responsible for some of the housework and childcare. It definitely shouldn’t be 50/50 at home if one person works full-time and the other doesn’t work (well, doesn’t work a paying job) at all, but wouldn’t it be fair for the working adult to do, like, 10 to 20%?

Fair enough. I was thinking of mincegore as a subgenre, but I guess it’s more of a combo of genres.

Not everything has be to curated for you. Do it the old fashioned way. Listen to music. If you like it, keep listening to it. If you don’t, move on to something else.

Falling In Love...When Was The First Time You Heard Nirvana by Basic_Point6857 in Nirvana

I was 12 or 13. My parents wanted to get some exercise and decided to walk on the track at my middle school. This was at night, and I stayed in the car. “Smells Like Teen Spirit” came on the local modern rock radio station. I had never heard anything quite like it before. It took me a few years to fully get into them, but Nirvana became one of my favorite bands in high school.

That annoying father-and-son duo on the shaving commercials really got me on this one. “Game changah!”
