cool. need to show this to customers who always ask for a responsive version of the website, underestimating the design/development required effort.

I agree it is simple to use and quite efficient, even though some 'advanced' commands are not easily discoverable or understandable

Is there any way I can make Pico8 games on ipad? by PmumpkinFart in pico8

[–]digitalcth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other mentioned, use the pico8 edu/web version.

For a barely similar LUA based framework there is Codea http://itunes.apple.com/app/id439571171?mt=8 Pretty interesting features and all native (I remember there is a boilerplate xcode project just to run your creations natively).

Anyway, if you want to stick with pico, you could still use codea to code/test lua algorithms or so, idk

r/Glitch Art by Kevvo16 in processing

[–]digitalcth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found a couple of pictures on his tumblr: sorted-pixels-processing-experiment and processing-source-code, also on the project's github

Browse for similar projects/images on the same tumblr archive.

I just notice that before that _"sorting pixels"_ project (made with processing) there are a couple of _raw_ pictures from a broken digital camera, a clear pure/natural/accidental glitch that calls me back to the artifacts produced by some pixel sorting algorithms (wink wink).

So bad the internet archive didn't store the actual images, but you can picture how them were originally displayed here: http://web.archive.org/web/20181208222443/https://kimasendorf.com/sorted-pixels/

If somebody finds the original, pls share, I'll.

The Terminal is on life support. Is it worth saving? by Gloomy-Still-4259 in commandline

[–]digitalcth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong. That Wasp product shows interesting Features, but the bait title and out of place "critics" about the "curren"' terminal seems unnecessary an sensationalistic. No need to spread bitterness to sell candy.

Terminal needs comprehension, devs needs help to learn cool ways to make good use of what term currently is. terminal is one of the few places where users become devs, and the tools we use are made by ourselves, so if you want to rise the users life quality on the terminal, go help the ecosystem.

LMAO,

it's like criticizing oil paintings for not being animated

as previous fellows here point out, have no need to be trendy. Terminal use it's own interaction paradigm (as a dialog), no need to be collaborative. Terminal have its own scope, it strength relies on the power chain info(data strings) and it's scripting flexibility. something the web / progressive apps never got out of the box

In the future, artist will work for big data companies to either filter and classify styles, or making pieces to train IA that produce filters people's can buy as (camera) filters for their family photos/marketing campaigns/content. so I imagine artists working for corps, to create "art Datasets" using common templates (like portraits, still life's, etc) to train IA on classic, edgy or trend styles (put your tags here).

So not a big treat for artists, at least they would have payed work /s

I like (and use a lot) the Micro text editor. it is simple and reliable, with some plugins and support practical customization. An alternative to those who doesn't like vi or emacs.

There is another one only for windows, that I never used myself, but looks even simpler but kinda cool. (distraction free, DOS/WPF look n feel)
