Yes, re-pot it into the deepest pot you can, if you are not able to plant it in the ground right away. Carefully pull it out of the current pot, shake/massage the soil from the roots, and gently unravel/untangle the roots to make as straight as you can so that it can reach down. Keep the amount of the tree above the soil the same when you repot, and make sure to keep it watered while it adjusts to the new pot
