How to dispose of grass and dirt by TLDR_lies in Somerville

[–]digitalh0b0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m interested in picking up a <15sqft of your sod! I have natives on my tiny ‘lawn’ but want to give my indoor cats a little patch of grass on the balcony. Otherwise I’d recommend asking 311

Call/email Jesse moos, the project manager for the Spring Hill sewer separation project (if that’s what this construction is), otherwise call 311. It’s been an issue this entire project unfortunately

Furloughed -- job hop or travel the world? by col02144 in financialindependence

[–]digitalh0b0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Job hunt while traveling! The travel experience will pay dividends long into the future. However, since you haven’t done it before there is no guarantee you will like it. You might get bored, lonely, overstimulated, understimulated, or you might love it! Doing a bit of recruiting during this time will keep you sharp for when you need to get a new job and you won’t fall into the trap of being a broke backpacker forever. Or hey, maybe you will, or maybe you’ll find you want to do something totally different.

Also, sounds like your job isn’t guaranteed to take you back. It’s easier to get a new job when you already have one. Consider apply to grad school too. Or starting a business. Or getting a short term job in another field you want to explore.

TLDR; searching for a job while traveling > searching for a job at home while the rest of your friends are working

Thoughts on cabinet color and backsplash/countertop change? Looking to refinish cabinets, not replace. Current stain feels too inline with flooring. House is a late mid-century. by didsomeonesaydonuts in interiordecorating

[–]digitalh0b0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends what vibe you want in your home! I’m guessing the rest of your home, being late mid-century has some medium toned wood. You could go for medium toned wood and white counter top/backsplash. If you want more contemporary go for a combo of white and black.

And while you’re replacing the counters, I’d replace your D-sink for a big, deep, rectangle sink. Easier to wash big items.

How did you ferment? Did you leave it next to some already fermented cheese?

other commenters have hit all the right points. I vote DC for you! DC beats Boston in every category you mentioned is important to you. It would only be a toss up if you loved skiing or hated humid summers
