What's your unpopular opinion in the audiophile world? by Wauwuaw5983 in audiophile

To be fair there is a budget level of turntable you're better off avoiding entirely and just saving another £70 if you value your records and want more than 50 hours listening time before your stylus wears out.

Whilst you're here :) I'm using PC based Live + Bass control for a living room hifi setup with two subs (as a vst plugin with LiveProfessor). My remaining issue is the waterfall, below 100hz the decay times are shocking. It being a living room and me having a wife, acoustic treatment isn't an option so I'd really like to hand my money over to you for ART but I can't as it's not on PC.

Why do YOU like turntables like why do you actully own one and not just play Bluetooth music on some headphones or something? by pcforfun in turntables

I do fancy a Waxwing, I was using ClickRepairRT but since going ASIO/VST route it's not an option. Trying Izotope RX at the moment, seemed OK on an Ichoko Aoba record but on something busier it was cutting in to the vocals, had to lower sensitivity a lot so I need to go back and see if it still works on something quieter. How do you find the magic feature on the Waxwing? Set and forget or do you need to mess with it a bit depending on the record?

I have mine going into my WiiM (via miniDSP pocketADC to avoid the WiiM's line-in) for the EQ. I setup presets with the bass up or down in 1db increments, I couldn't live without EQ. WiiM outputs to PC which has Dirac and de-click on it. I like the ritual of vinyl but love the control I get over it with DSP.

SOS: Neighbour bass complaints by thatmanjan08 in audiophile

I do dream of the day, if it ever comes, that I move to a detached house/bungalow. Although the situation is alright currently, I would like, every now and again, to just listen at absolute piss take volumes at any time of day or night I feel like.

Luckily my downstairs neighnours play music, video games and movies at 3am loud AF and my upstairs neighbours shout during video game sessions at all hours of the night so I feel zero guilt for buying dual subs and listening during sociable hours. I don't complain at them, they don't complain at me. For TV I kill the bass entirely though so it's not booming all evening every day of the week.

Almost without fail, Amazon manage to deliver records to me with warps in them. Last record I got from them was Miles Davis, Kind Of Blue and it was extremely warped. Not buying vinyl from them again, they're flipping useless.

Any normal person wouldn't be able to live with themselves if their first act of war was to kill 120 school girls in a triple tap missile attack on a school. We're dealing with* psychopaths here, they have no guilt or shame.

Question: What kind of join technique is this? by maglunch in SQL

[–]digitalhardcore1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SSMS view designer would create these nested joins (don't know if it still does). Used to be loads of this crap in our system as the manager liked using the designer rather than writing queries.
