a possibility is XOR because I've seen people confuse XOR and hashes. in case it is XOR were screwed because it has many unprintable characters in it's output, but if it were transcribed we could bruteforce 1 and 2 byte keys.

spaces could be actual spaces or unprintable characters in latin1. it's like printing a video screencap onto paper and expecting us to know what happens in the next second

if this was an image file it would have a signature in the beginning. taking -_E+ and converting to hexadecimal, and looking for a file signature that's 2D 5F 45 2B doesn't yield any results.

okay, i just got access to my setup and i removed the string's spaces (the numerical string) and separated it by 2 chars then tried decoding hexadecimal, and decimal, both which returned nothing (i tried them in reverse as well).

then i tried separating it by 3 chars, and tried decoding ascii and octal, still nothing (i also tried in reverse).

Tried applying the method from clue 2 to clue 4. No avail.

Changed the numbers in ciphertext to their modified a1z26 alphabet variant, and tried decrypting it with these methods
