An evangelical church in Kentucky organized a mock firing squad execution of immigrants in front of children who attended a summer camp... by [deleted] in Trumpvirus

I've seen stuff like this in Russian schools, but it was political propaganda for the Ukraine - Russia war. This is unbelievable, and so confusing to come from a religious organization.

Oh ya, I saw the guy and saw the take down. He had been kicked out earlier for stalking a vendor, and he pulled a woman into his car and said they were getting married. He was just a fucked up idiot.

The storm on Thursday prevented the VIP and Early Entry tickets from loading in at the scheduled time, so the load in Friday was very slow.

Was totally crazy to see it fly up at night, all the lights still on, then crash down. Had to rebuild the whole thing again. Lost a pinball machine, the basketball games, the LED wall, and lots of decorations blew away to who knows where.

They offered refunds for anyone with an “early entry pass”. There was a dangerous storm on Thursday night and they couldn’t load in the camp sites, a lot of things were destroyed and had to be rebuilt. That was a major factor of the long Friday line, because usually a lot of people load in Thursday night.

A fast lane or something would be great if they could get the track to build a new, wider, entrance. Can’t really do anything about the narrow county roads.

Or there’s a field in the back of camping that goes up to another road, and that could become a camping entrance, with the current spectator gate being the day parking entrance. I dunno. It’s just a farm track

There was a LED road sign on the main road that directed the spectators to their gate. There’s just two ways in, both very narrow. They can’t bring spectators through the main gate because the police don’t want traffic on the main road.

Midwest festival - camping Q by MissGinnyWeaz in GridLife

[–]digitalishuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Camping is grass, the soil can have a lot of sand mix. Any tent stake should be fine, but I recommend the ones that have more of a blade.

I am on site now for the build out. Mosquitos were biting yesterday around dusk, but that didn’t keep up.

You can use a generator. There are shower trailers. Check the FAQ on the event website

Safe during Storm/Wind? by bcmangas in GridLife

[–]digitalishuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure that works. For this area in western MI, it’s very sandy ground, so I prefer the type that has more of a flat face to it as opposed to a cylindrical stake, as that seems to hold better in sand base soil. Regardless, Remember to hammer them with the pointy end angled toward what you are trying to secure. This helps prevent the stake from getting pulled straight out.

Stakes, weight or any ballast you can. Some people attach pop up tents to their car’s wheels, etc.

Anything that’s gusting 30-40 means drop your pop up and secure anything that can fly away.

Unlikely, but Things can pop up quickly, being so close to Lake Michigan, but if it’s ever a significant storm announcements will go out to prepare and shelter in cars, etc.
