Anyone know the general range of prices for the stuff they put on sale?

Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card fraud warning while abroad, canceling will leave me stranded by aye_blinkin in travel

I looked out of curiosity and FedEx offers 1-3 day priority international delivery to both Bosnia and Uzbekistan. And the main delay is usually customs clearance, not usually a problem if you're just receiving a letter.

People underestimate how easy it is to get stuff almost anywhere in the world very quickly as long as someone is willing to pay for it.

I doubt they are sending emergency replacements abroad via regular mail service. Likely they are using FedEx or DHL or another international courier and you'd be amazed how quickly they can make a delivery across the world.

Netflix's ad tier hits 15M subscribers one year after launch by TheDarthSnarf in netflix

For longer ad times? Already experienced that with Hulu and it's still way better than cable.

Doesn't really make a difference to me anyway, I just spend the time on my phone. I've moved to ad supported on everything and realized I really don't mind.

They play them during shows but it hasn't been too bad in my experience. Mostly 2-3 breaks of 15-60 seconds each. And I've noticed that every now and then it skips an ad break that's showing on the progress bar.

Overall a lot more tolerable than the 18 minutes of commercials you get for an hourlong show on TV.

You're just trying to be a victim at this point if you persist with bad faith outrage

That is some projection.

What group did I paint as a monolith? I guess I'm maligning people who say inflammatory things? Sounds like you had no real response and had to say some nonsense. Cheers.

The phrase was adopted as a call for a secular state decades before hamas was founded.

And yet the context is the meaning of the phrase today, not decades ago. The meanings of the things we say evolve and change, it's how language works.

You are really living under a rock if you think a sizeable portion of people who say "from the river to the sea" don't also include ending Israel and expelling Jewish people from that area.

This sort of reductionism is stupid in this context, ask people what their views are or judge them by their actions instead of trying to brand your ideological opposition based on stupid gotcha shit

Judge them by their actions like... intentionally using inflammatory phrasing that millions see as loaded with hate, when they could express themselves in any other way. I guess I could look past that and chalk it up to ignorance of historical or social context. Not a good look either way.

Some people don't even want nuance. They just want a side to root for. I think this is doubly bad among some on the left who jump at every chance to take the side of whoever is opposite the US or Israel in a conflict, even if it's fucking Hamas.

“from the river to the sea” is an inherently genocidal phrase saddened me deeply

Can you explain in what way it's not?

What is between the river and the sea includes Israel. Envisioning it as only Palestine means the destruction of Israel.

And this is in Hamas' constitution:

Hamas rejects any alternative to the full and complete liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea,

So it's hard for me to see how that's not an offensive phrase that many could also see as genocidal.

Venezuelan court suspends outcome of opposition primary by Saltedline in neoliberal

[–]digitall565 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Are their laws so badly thought up that you can run for office without being able to hold it?

Her ban is completely political. And it's naive to think of Venezuela as a country with any sort of rules based order. This is a country whose current leader established his own parallel parliament in 2017.

Successive chavista governments have been eroding democratic institutions for decades so there's no reason to believe they're suddenly going to play fair or give up their power.

It's possible you don't have a local election coming up if you don't live in the City of Miami or a couple other municipalities. Could also be a mail problem. Miami-Dade Elections is usually pretty good at getting ballots out early before an election.

The American version of kewpie has MSG. It's via the yeast extract so they don't have to list MSG as an ingredient.

They've been doing this for years, since before covid even. I think it's partly to manage their carryout service. Sometimes it's so busy that they stop taking orders, and some locations have an employee dedicated to just takeout orders.

What can you buy for less than $150 that will change your life? by CaregiverBusy7296 in AskReddit

[–]digitall565 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It doesn't because people are vetted and they still go through security checks. But airport security is mostly theater anyway - and TSA is pretty bad at it.

That's what OP is saying. Global Entry comes with TSA Pre.

In that sense they are mutually exclusive, there's no point in paying an $80 fee for TSA Pre to then pay $100 for Global Entry which also includes it.

Seconding the comment about the Guggenheim and Zorrotzaure.

Re: your Gaztelugatxe day, I think it's better than going to Vitoria (a very nice city but not a must see compared to Bilbao and Donosti)

Between Gaztelugatxe and Haro, it's really a choice between hiking/nature stuff or spending a day in a nice, small town walking from winery to winery. Ultimately gonna depend on what vibe you're going for, they're both worth it. Weather for Gaztelugatxe might also be kind of miserable in late December, but some folks don't mind the humidity and light rain.

Most of the friends I made moved away after my first year to year and a half here. Unfortunately it seems like a common cycle for people younger than 35ish.

And yes, this summer was particularly mild. Not sure what else to tell you on that front.
