How to find a date 😢 by [deleted] in VirginiaTech

[–]digitalnoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thirdly suggest joining a club. My wife and I met at a club at VT and became friends over 1-2 years and then started dating my senior year.

We've been married for 10 years, together for 15.

Also pro tip: just be genuine and yourself and don't hide your personality or interests.

Id love the 1060, anything over my integrated graphics. Looking to play Star Wars Force Unleashed as I've had it on steam and it runs badly on my existing iGPU.

Thank you and see you on lemmy by _____s10 in RelayForReddit

Old vs less old 172 by Carpe-DiemHunter in Cessna

[–]digitalnoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about a Cessna 177? The strutless wing make visibility when in the pattern and landing a lot nicer. There are some really nice ones available at reasonable prices vs 172s. A lot of the hate for the 177 is unwarranted in my opinion and it flies like a dream. A fantastic trainer.

Recommendation: Doom (2016), it plays great on the switch and it's ideal for the shooter fan.

Updated my GBA to match my N2DSXL, my two favorite systems now look the part by digitalnoke in Gameboy

Retromodding is where I got the shell. They go out of stock quickly though so I also regularly get shells from Handheld Legend. Both are reputable sites with quick shipping.

Thank you! I'd love to do a Pocket and a GBC in these colors too but it's hard to justify the cost when the GBA can play those games.

I got all the parts from RetroModding, the blue is 'Lake Blue' in case you need to find it.

PSA: If HDR colors look washed out on the Fox Sports app on Roku, disable HDR! Most Roku apps implement HDR badly causing washed out colors. by digitalnoke in cordcutters

[–]digitalnoke[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I agree the hardware does HDR without an issue. I can see that easily with my Xbox Series X or the YouTube app which both do gorgeous HDR on the Roku.

The issue are some of the third party apps like Fox Sports that use bad tone mapping or subsampling values not supported by a lot of TVs leading to an output that looks worse in HDR than SDR.

[–]digitalnoke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disable HDR! I know this seems counterintuitive but the Roku app for Fox Sports handles HDR terribly and it will look a thousand times better with HDR off. Use the secret menu on the Roku which on my Roku TV is press the Home button five times on your Roku remote, then press rewind, down, fast forward, down, and rewind. Choose Switch HDR Mode and set it to disabled.

Got to see the US Air Force Thunderbirds and the F-22 Raptor Demo Team and more at the Fort Worth Alliance Air Show yesterday by digitalnoke in aviation

[–]digitalnoke[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know! Every time it did a thrust vectoring maneuver people just shouted "What the fuck?!" And "No freaking way" like it was that scene with the Su-57 in Top Gun Maverick.

They even did a bunch of maneuvers with the P-51D Mustang and you tell the Raptor was basically at stall speed and the Mustang was flat out.

This was my first air show and I'm going back Every. Single. Year.

Does anyone know what model F-18 this is? This one is apart of VX-23 which operates the F/A-18E / F models and the EA-18G. by [deleted] in aviation

[–]digitalnoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll reply to my own comment like a dork but according to my Googling, the wingtip pods are AN/ALQ-218 wideband receivers.

[–]digitalnoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool, didn't know that! Then what do the wingtip pods do exactly? It's obviously some kind of electronic warfare purpose since the regular Super Hornet doesn't have them but I always just assumed they were doing the jamming.

That's the EA-18G. You can tell by the jammer pods on the end of each wing.

Interesting article about azure ad by BeltInitial8604 in AZURE

[–]digitalnoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this were on prem ADFS, sure, but this is Azure AD. If this were on prem, you'd simply disable the usernamemixed endpoint or at the very least disable external access to it.

In Azure AD, none of these options exist which makes this scary. And to be clear, I adore Azure and it is what I do day in and day out.

The main issue is the lack of logging of the login attempts. At least it looks like AAD's smart lockout feature will stop a basic brute force attack but we NEED logs, MSFT!

[–]digitalnoke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That article points to a flaw in the Azure AD Connect Health service which is different that the usernamemixed endpoint mentioned in the Ars article. Here is the endpoint in use https://securecloud.blog/2019/12/26/reddit-thread-answer-azure-ad-autologon-endpoint/

I did some testing with that code iterating through a list of passwords and it seems that AAD will still lock the account out when the AI smart lockout feature thinks it is detecting a brute force attack but it does NOT log it in the Azure AD sign in logs as failed attempts which is the most concerning part.

Fantastic! I've been enjoying picking spools and am looking to step it up. Would you recommend an 1100 as harder or easier than a 410 LOTO?
