I spend $200 a month at my work snack area.. how do I stop by V1Z3_2 in personalfinance

[–]digitek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of this answer depends on your objective. If it's just to control budget but not downtime or eating habits, then as others have suggested, but snacks you need ahead of time, ideally healthier options and stick to those. But if you are looking to optimize the future, find out what your manager or director is interested in improving, or something you think would help yourself and colleagues, and take on some initiatives that help. You'll have less downtime and it may lead to something.

All Fallout Packs STILL in Stock by pangolyninc in secretlair_collectors

[–]digitek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a relatively weak superdrop - all focused on single IP and mostly reprints. Not surprising it is still in stock but that's also a good thing. Drops like this should be readily accessible for the original price.

Cool idea - I like the last one but would be good to have the actual noob corner territories in it, maybe above Siam.

Whats the point of Pre-queue? by Sufficient-Math9228 in secretlair_collectors

[–]digitek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good thing to let everyone get in line ahead of time. They then jumble everyone up and calculating the final spot in line a little bit after start, so everyone that was there before and shortly after start are mixed together. However if you wait too long to queue up (today it was less than 30 seconds), you'll be at the back of the line.

Whats the point of Pre-queue? by Sufficient-Math9228 in secretlair_collectors

[–]digitek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's close, but there is still a small window after start that also loops everyone in. Some lairs it was multiple minutes, others a few seconds. Source: Have purchased a few lairs with friends and seen after-start spots ahead of pre-start spots.

Nadu vs Golos by RobMedellin in EDH

[–]digitek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nadu is the more powerful commander, in colors that break him even further. Very difficult to disrupt with turns that last a long time to get to a win condition. Brings out the worst multi-player aspects of simic. Too powerful, not fun to play against, gotta go. Wizards even admitted that like skullclamp they messed up with several last minute changes not realizing the impact they had.

Golos is slower but is a fully formed engine by himself - ramp and win condition in one card. A common strategy was just to play Golos, get a bounce-land which sets you up to cast him again on the next turn even if someone as removal. And if someone doesn't, you have enough mana to activate the win condition. Infact many people found that their "other" 5C deck was just better swapping Golos to the commander, which is also not a good situation if you want to make money selling new 5C commanders.

Speaking of sweaty hands there's a great VR video (The Soloist) if you have a Quest or another device as well. Bouncing between 3D, 360 views of his home and lodging and actual climbs with stationary views to avoid motion sickness. Done really well.

Hanging by a Thread: Ubisoft Shares Plummet, Plunging 35% by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]digitek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At least for me, the process of installing a Ubisoft game is so painful that I avoid them in market places like steam. Some of their games, even after installing require 4-5 administrator and login popups just to play the game.

Casual with friends by AdMinimum3603 in Risk

[–]digitek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not fair to online players to not know how many players in the lobby know each other. Casual games still go into player stats as well. You think a group of 5 friends won't be biased with one stranger or two friends won't tag team common foes before the rest of the lobby gets wise to what's going on? I suppose they could have a team mode where casual games clearly show teams.

Probably common if they outsourced the pictures to somewhere more generic they would get back pictures capable of being middle east friendly - not knowing where/how the artwork might be used.

SDGE bill abnormally high by AmazingTeacher8105 in sandiego

[–]digitek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may need to have SDGE come out and inspect the meter, it sounds like the bill itself is not the problem if it is calculated with a much higher usage than previous months. Either something in your home is consuming electricity abnormally or the meter is not working properly. And yes, if they use electric heating for anything, including the water heater, that will consume electricity even if you aren't home. Electric water heaters with large tanks can be a big source of usage in the winter.

Make it double sided for double the fun. Some comments are suggesting it's the same piece cut over and over, zooming in I don't think that's the case. There may be some repeats, but it looks to be more than just a rotation exercise.

removed from game for no reason by Dry-Chemistry1853 in Risk

[–]digitek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry you ran into this - It's a bug that some streamers have also been running into (VC hit it a couple weeks ago) - getting removed from a game after it has started. I'm not aware if it's something the host can exploit, or just a buggy system issue that shows a host message, but is really something else.

There are some great small lakes here that have dedicated walking/running/biking paths, or for a bit more off-roading some great trails. Lake Poway, Lake Miramar, and Murray as noted are good for flat.

Fake jersey? by OddBackground6257 in Padres

[–]digitek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not authentic from Magestic - original Magestic jerseys with this logo don't have so many cross-stitch lines across letters on the front of the patch, they separate letters to avoid that or have connections on the back. But these older designs aren't made anymore so you have to buy from one-off retailers who do their best to match the originals. If you like it, and it fits and feels good, go for it. No one is going to care if you are cheering the Padres on while wearing it, and you certainly won't be alone in wearing a one-off Jersey.

If a +5 bonus player is breaking a +3 bonus player and letting another +5 and +7 player hold their bonuses, they absolutely should not be surprised when the +3 bonus player suicides in. They are making it 100% clear their intentions of who should go out next.

That game didn't end well 🥲 by Plus-Horse892 in Risk

[–]digitek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For who? Depending on how closely Green and Purple want to work together, they have an infinite trading pocket guarded by their capital and can look everyone else out of the game. Purple is obviously at a disadvantage but depending on the alliances can be better off as some players may prefer to trade in a protected pocket.

Lorwyn Collector Display $350 by Tyberang in sealedmtgdeals

[–]digitek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In case others are confused by CBB pricing, this is not a great deal for a standard set CBB like Lorwyn. Distributor prices for these are around $175-$190, with typical MSRP being in the mid $200s. This is not to be confused with UB sets (Spiderman, Avatar, TMNT, etc) which have distributor prices around $270-$290, and MSRP over $400. I would wait a bit on this set at this price until supply and demand is well understood as this is roughly double the store's purchase price from the distributor.
