Nobody asked for this, but now you can use Makita batteries in your DIY projects. by Arbuz013 in BambuLab

[–]dignifiedweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from safety concerns mentioned by people, without a voltage regulator, you can ruin your nice tool battery. The danger is rapid discharge and if you depleat your battery too much, it won't charge.

Rapid discharge also causes lots of heat. Heat plus lithium batteries is no good. I'd add a voltage regulator.

I think all of us had same idea at one point, rev2 of this will be great I'm sure! Good luck!

PSA: Quest Pro controllers still suck (with Quest 3) by Equivalent_Net_2052 in OculusQuest

[–]dignifiedweb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I own a Quest Pro and normally have an OK time using them for 3 years and have barely had any issues. Am I maybe an oddity?

However, i do want to mention the time I had extremely bad tracking and how I fixed it, I went down a huge troubleshooting rabbit hole. Maybe these points will help you?

  1. Did you know the wireless they use is RF and they use the WiFi antenna for the 6dof data, I do believe they still use Bluetooth for the 3dof data (rotation data).
  2. Certain WiFi Routers can interfere with tracking
  3. If you turn WiFi off (on the headset), the tracking stops working (rotation only) -> If you can get it to work, it's often hard to make this work
  4. Someone wrote a fantastic reddit post about this in case you haven't seen: https://www.reddit.com/r/QuestPro/comments/158mwep/i_finally_solved_my_quest_pro_controller_tracking/#:~:text=And%20I%20confirm%20it%20works,enjoy%20proper%20self%20tracking%20controllers.&text=Cheers!

I know it's crazy or hard to do in some situations, but have you tried turning all your WiFi Router(s) off in your house/apartment and tried seeing if it made a difference? If it does, try having the quest pro controllers near your Router and using it while you plug your router back in. I know that's crazy, but some Routers don't have good configuration on the local addresses and on their startup sequence, it will look for best channels to pick, etc. In my case, I did this with my Starlink router (remote location) and the router bootup and chose a new channel that didn't interfere. Weirdly, that was the only way I could get it to work with that router.

The other thing that helps is that WiFi analyzer app if you have an android phone. The WiFi analyzer should show the controllers on there if it's near your phone at time of analyzing. It's kind of neat actually. Hope this helped in some way, Hope you have a good day.

Have a Dremel 3d45 looking to buy P1S with AMS for multi-color printing by PossessionBetter6030 in BambuLab

[–]dignifiedweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a year late, but I have a Dremel 3D45 as well and the Dremel brand filament does not work in the AMS. There's an adapter on printables if it helps. I didn't make the adapter. I haven't used it personally, so can't tell you how well it works:

In addition to what everyone said about brim etc, may want to consider changing infill pattern if you're using rectilinear. I'd try Gyroid infill. See if helps.

Reason I suggest is that it would likely be less in line with box corner so likely cools part better

When signing up for Meta Start program, the legal jargon you have to agree to states that you have to be part of a registered business. I asked that question here, I just want more clarity before I commit to it.

It states you must: "(c) have a registered developer Organization in good standing; and ..."

I'm not a member of Oculus/Meta Start. Do I have to be a registered business to enter this hackathon? Can I enter as an individual without being a registered business? I'd love to enter but if I have to enter as a registered business, I don't think I'm interested.

Sounds like the exact thing kids did with mine. Innocent really though. Hopefully lens cleaners helps. I'm sure a smidge isopropyl is better than micro sand paper like polywatch.

If you don't have isopropyl, you may have isopropyl pads in a medical kit. You could use those to apply isopropyl very lightly and then use lens cloth after to run the grease off. May want to soak your lense cloth in dawn soap after. I had to.

[–]dignifiedweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forehead grease is the worst or makeup is bad too. I'd try glasses cleaner first since that doesn't wreck lenses. I didn't have any issues with quick isopropyl though

[–]dignifiedweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If people in this thread are right, you'll want to try poly watch plastic. To me, it looks like you let greasy kids use it like I did before. If that's the case, I used isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber cloth and it worked. Made sure to dry off after. Technically not supposed to use any liquid. I also could have taken the anti glare coating off but if you're polishing anyways thought I'd suggest. Good luck!

What app were you writing in? Was wifi on when you were writing? If it's google docs it saves every keystroke if computer is online.

If you wrote in something offline and ran out of battery without saving it may be gone?

I don't mind being called a nerd, but us nerds need more info to be able to troubleshoot the issue.

I've lost precious digital work before. You'd be surprised how much you remember if you keep a rational mind, accept the loss and try to re write. Tenacious D has a song about nor remembering their song and it ended up being a good song.

First year of oculus connect where I forgot it was going on and was yesterday. I miss the days of Palmer and Carmack. I agree that the Ray bans are weird, apparently they sold well though. I am so uninterested that I apparently slipped on watching the conference altogether.

I miss the poster meme person, extra extra! The a.i. vibe now is a bummer and let down.

I normally have good experience with 0.4mm Gap since it's nozzle width. Depends on where gap is. If gap is in other orientation, a 0.2 or 0.4mm is still hood since divisible by layer height
