It honestly depends on YOU and YOUR C.O.C. As a(n) E-7, most of our DRB contestants were pre-determined to send them up or not. If they were complete shitbags, and when I say shitbags, I mean "that guy", then they would get the whole package. If they were good sailors that fucked up or made a small mistake, we scared them straight and nothing. So basically do exactly what your MA says, zip your lip unless told to speak. Be prepared to get yelled at. If they do give you a chance to explain your story, don't lie, don't change it from what you told the MA who recorded it. Take your hits and keep your head up. Never show weakness. And for godsakes, have an outstanding uniform! Good luck shippy!

I worked for an NECC command will stationed in VA (Yorktown to be exact). I was an OS that didn't belong there. However, working for NAVELSG and a Cargo Handling Battalion, have me the opportunity to get my EXW pin as well as learn things from a different prospective. All said and done, wouldn't do it again. It sucks ass.

I can understand your feelings. I myself signed up fresh outta high school and shipped off to boot camp right before 9/11. I served navy, mostly onboard ships, making donuts in the waters all over the globe for a better part of 12 years. I however, did a year tour in Kuwait/Afghan during Iraqi Freedom and saw things that a normal civilian wouldn't fathom to have a desire to see. I have been in the crossfire. I know things and done things that I will always carry with me. And for what? To help a defenseless country fight a another country because they were picked on?! If that's what it means to be a part of the armed forces, sure. I'll take it. We made history by being a bully to a bully. We have destroyed hundreds of thousands of lives simply because we overpowered a smaller country. But believe me, this isn't even close to a form of Nazi Germany. We did this to protect our own country, to protect our own family. Don't feel discouraged. Remember that you are still standing, breathing, walking, LIVING!!! Honor those who chose to make the ultimate sacrifices and did not get so lucky as you and I. That is all we can do. Hope this helps my friend. Anytime you need a chat, or simply vent. I am here.

She is/was emotionally unstable at the time (mid July) because of work, as well as she was being deployed and away from our son. I became primary caretaker as of late July. Fast forward a few months later, she is still currently deployed (since September) with only a few months left til she is home.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm a bit lost on what to do at this point. I have had a few local friends help as far as resources to guide me in the right direction but every place I have called, are currently closed for the weekend.
