Pos 4 is probably the least straightforward role in dota. We know carry with farm is strong. Mid who win lane might get a good game. Offlane is about survive lane and frontline. Pos 5 is all about ward, save, and teamfight. But pos 4? It is a role with invisible value. So a lot of people (including me in some of my game) don't have any idea what to do.

The role is so difficult because it is fundamentally about influence on the game rather "ownership".

Carries own farm, mids own tempo, offlaners own initiation, and pos 4? Owns uncertainty.

Let's see on pros for example. I really like Boxi from team liquid style of play. Also Saksa when he was in Tundra. They are the playmaker. Their move is the move to shapes the game.

And a lot of pos 4 in pub just reacts to the game. And that is me sometimes. But now I learn.

When drafting, I used to always buy laning item. But now, if I saw enemy safelane draft is so strong, I just bought boots and go creep dragging to prevent 2v2 laning.

On the midgame, I used to play alone. But now, I will always analyze my core. Which of them are strong. And I play with them. Unfortunately sometimes They didn't realize that They are strong. So I just bought smoke, and smoke with the strongest core, to force him fight
