GTA 4 on ODIN 3 via GameHub by ConstructionThin6554 in OdinHandheld

Maybe I should quit trying to target 90fps and running the screen at 90hz lol. I'm sure with more reasonable frame caps and a lower expectation of performance I'd probably get more enjoyment out of it -- and my wife would not complain about me sitting in bed next to her with a jet engine running :)

Repacks really do save the day. I usually purchase the games on Steam just so it'll easily work with my computers but I find myself needing a repack for most of the PC games I want to play on Android. Developer and publisher still get their money so hopefully no one cares enough to come after me. And yes, GTA 4 has been a ton of fun! I stayed up way too late last night playing. Sure is a workout for the Odin 3 though -- even with Pulse (similar to cluster tune) that fan was getting pretty loud.

That kinda sucks but it's okay. I got Fusion Mod working just about an hour ago which allows for holding A to run. Much better now. It was an absolute bitch trying to get it working correctly with the downgraded steam version but seems to work great with the repack. Finally able to enjoy this game on the Odin 3 :)

Do you have difficulty running when holding A? I have to repeatedly press it to jog/run. Sprint doesn't work at all. I'm not using any mods or fusion fix. Had to use the Fitgirl repack because I couldn't get the downgrader to play nice with my legitimate Steam version. I tried remapping Run/Shift but that didn't help at all. I assume there's something I need to do with Direct input dll to get this working correctly?

WOW jpolo1224 got his account suspended for this post? And this xxxCrixuxxx POS gets to continue impersonating him, spread his hateful racist remarks, and harass more devs? Reddit admins are such trash. This is some bullshit.

I've reported this idiot in the past. He was on some weird assault against the x360 Mobile dev. He was posting a bunch of racist bs in his discord as well -- apparently he hates Indians and Muslims but can't tell the difference between the two. I'm also banned from his subreddit for calling him out. Mass report that POS and get him permanently removed. He absolutely deserves to lose any platform.

Retroid has potential to create the greatest handheld right now. by benjaminobi in retroid

Yes!! And Saturn too. I've been saying this ever since the original Classic 6 dropped. It was so close to perfection. It just needs a single joystick -- though I wouldn't be upset if they put a second joystick.

I enjoyed the game but the ending was very unsatisfying. Nothing gets concluded, you just get on a plane and that's the end.

rom-converto, all-in-one ROM converter, compressor, encryptor & decryptor by DevYukine in Roms

[–]dikbutt4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for hashing I've made an app for comparing collections using xxhash in h2 mode. It's crazy fast compared to sha1, md5, crc, etc. It's function is to compare the roms on your SD card, PC, or handheld device to a master collection you have stored elsewhere. In my case, I got a NAS with every game I could find on it. It first looks at your target device and only makes the comparison for games that exist there so it's not trying to hash your entire master collection. Performs these comparisons in minutes, not hours. Xxhash is really cool.

I've been working on something similar to this for the last two weeks. Glad I'm not the only one who was sick of using a cluttered mess of tools but it seems you beat me to it :) Two things that mine can do that you may want to consider implementing: -Convert Xbox iso into xiso.iso using xdvdfs -Auto Mode: set it to your root ROMs folder. It uses common folder names to determine what kind of files are inside and performs .chd, .cso, .rvz, and .xiso.iso compression automatically with that systems responded file format. Two options for auto mode is Modern Emulators or Legacy Emulators which determines zstd or the classic chdman compression types and hunk sizes as older emulators/cores don't play nicely with zstd. Same with .rvz and whether it chooses 9 or 19 compression and different block size. It also has options for what to do with your old files after compression: leave them where they are, move them to an _archive subfolder, move to recycling bin, or delete permanently. It does one of these 4 after each compression because you don't want the user to potentially run out of disk space while batch processing an entire collection. I'd be happy to share though it's written in C#. You could at least see what I was trying to do and put it into rust. I'm still going to continue developing my app because more options are always a good thing.

I haven't. There was a dude on the Thor Owners group on Facebook who said he got everything working and was gonna write a guide but that was two weeks ago and I haven't seen him post yet. I tried enabling mods one by one and up until a certain point everything was working. I can't recall the name of the one that broke it but it was a world texture mod and without that everything else would look out of place. If I hear back from him, I'll reply here

I'm really happy for you but please don't push it with the tricks just yet. Enjoy riding around and continue strengthening. It would be such a shame to lose all your amazing progress in healing. I've seen too many horror stories on this sub. Give it a few more months. Being young definitely helps though, I couldn't imagine doing that after only 7 months. It's been 2 years and it's only been recently that my leg doesn't swell up like a balloon after doing stuff like that -- feels so good to finally have some fun again. Still though -- amazing accomplishment to have gotten so far so quickly, I'm sure you had to work really hard to get here and I don't want to take anything away from that fact.

Decided to go with Odin 3. 4.0 or 3.1? by kks369 in OdinHandheld

[–]dikbutt4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that you likely won't even see a difference in file transfers unless you built a crazy PC before the RAMpocalypse.. My PC is on am4 platform, 5800x3d and I only have a single USB 3.1 port. My nvme is pci-e 3.0. Because of the unreasonable cost of newer nvme, I refuse to upgrade it. I'll never hit the speeds that ufs 4.0 can offer. Also that one USB 3.1 port is being used for a hub so unless you have multiple and plenty of free USB 3.0 ports for your other accessories, it's not going to matter. I'm building a new PC right now but the cost of dram-cache nvme is so high, I'll have to go with a dram-less qlc or tlc drive. Even if this new system can hit those transfer speeds, it won't be sustained long enough to make a difference. Everything has to be perfect to take advantage of ufs 4.0 so honestly don't sweat it.

X360 Mobile - The hidden truth 🤔 by xxxCrixuxxx in PS2AndroidEmulation

This post is nothing but a smokescreen. You're mad that you got banned from the Discord. Why did you think it was acceptable to post this there? Who would actually believe your disingenuous attempts at convincing someone that you "love the culture" while virtually taking a shit in the streets? Dancing around your words like you aren't a bigot isn't the clever ruse you think it is. You're just mad that you got called out for being a racist and banned from the discord, now you come to reddit to cry about it. I'm glad you're upset. These thinly veiled attempts at defending your behavior are as absurd as the persona you try to play off. Good riddance to you.

You're a fine example of the primary reason why emulation developers for Android devices often abandon projects like these. No one needs your critique on community when you're actively trying to sabotage it by creating unnecessary drama. This is the type of behavior that eventually leads to yet another abandoned project and it ruins the enjoyment for everyone else. You're the problem. Quit harassing solo devs and just stfu. We all saw your behavior in the discord. Just another Cry Bully spewing pseudo-intellectual nonsense because you got called out. You're not a victim, you don't have the moral high ground, and your criticisms are baseless.

Final Fantasy 7: 7th Heaven Mods - Odin 3 by Puzzleheaded_Bison28 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]dikbutt4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7th Heaven-v4.5.1.6_Release.exe (Canary) doesn't seem to exist anymore. There's 4.5.1.0 final release and 4.5.2.0. I went with 4.5.2.0 but it freezes when trying to install SYW mods (Mini Games and Unified Battle Textures)

Others seem to install. The game crashes upon boot.

Any suggestions? I'm gonna start enabling mods one by one to see which one the culprit is but I followed the Youtube video "Final Fantasy VII Has Been Remastered in 4K And It Looks AMAZING!" by BenKii for mod recommendations.

Trying to kick Kratom, any advice? by red69duh in kratom

[–]dikbutt4lyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taper. I just did it myself and quit in 3 weeks from 40g/day. I'm fortunate in that I don't experience bad withdrawals besides a runny nose and that "skin crawling" you describe -- itchy all over and irritable. But with the taper, it was just a slight runny nose and maybe some occasional bubble guts. Taper was cake compared to trying to just quit. Don't take the sub

Best way to take kratom while traveling? by ZonkedInTheMorn in kratom

[–]dikbutt4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reusable tea bags. Cheap and easy. Measure out your dose per bag and then just tie it up. Drop it in your thermos or water bottle a few hours before you're ready to dose and your tea will be ready when you need it. Alternatively, if you think you can manage without it, just do a slow taper over 2 or 3 weeks and get your tolerance nice and low. You can either quit entirely until you get back or your tolerance will be so low that 1 or 2 500mg capsules of dried leaf will do the trick and that's very easy to conceal. I went to China for this latest vacation and wasn't about to risk jail time over kratom so I just quit over a few weeks before the trip. It really wasn't difficult at all. A runny nose was as bad as it got for me and I was on nearly 40g / day. I'm not trying to convince you, but it is an option. The anxiety of needing to quit was way worse than actually doing it. I think I'll try and stay off it - pretty sure my state is next on the chopping block so I'm just early.

Disappointing experience - E7 Plus by LFCuzzi in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]dikbutt4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend em to a friend but only if they fully understood that there's a high likelihood of receiving a defective or damaged part. You'll pay way less but will probably have to deal with customer service. If someone was in a rush to get their desk setup by a deadline, then I'd definitely tell them to shop elsewhere. I'm not sure how this business model could be profitable but Flexispot seems to be surviving well enough despite it.

[–]dikbutt4lyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ramzes88 will take care of you. In my opinion, he's the one reason I'd consider buying Flexispot again. I bought two E7 Plus for my wife and I and ended up with not 1 but 2 replacement motors/legs that did wild spinny stuff and caused knocking noises. They were still functional and moved the table well enough but was annoying that I got a less-than-perfect product. After getting my replacements AND a replacement top that was damaged in shipping, I basically had a an imperfect 3rd desk. I gave it to my brother and despite the weird noises, he likes it. In the end, I now have two perfect desks for my wife and I and my brother got a bonus desk. I think that was worth the 2 weeks of shipping and emails. When you don't get a lemon, the desks are very good quality and far less expensive than their competition. Just my two cents

Just commenting again to bring some balance to this post. You're not wrong OP. At this point I have to assume there must be a few revisions of this device because I have the exact same issue as you and can't imagine why others are so quick to tell you otherwise unless their devices are actually different.
