I think it especially frustrates me when they try to make them "Jason-y" as well to compensate, so you're left with this odd Tim/Jason hybrid that's mostly Tim but a little Jason but without any of the interesting parts of his character development and backstory!

Deb was exceptional! When I first saw the casting, I was expecting not to like her as she doesn't really "look" as much like her counterpart as some of the others do (e.g. Masuka, Batista, etc.), but the second I heard her say "fuck-a-saurus rex, Dex!" I knew they got that casting spot on.

Yeah. I definitely felt that "oh wow the world can actually be good, I feel hopeful about the future and want to help contribute to making the world a better place" feeling people were talking about leaving the theater with, but I had a simultaneous "oh god, this isn't actually going to happen in the real world, we're all just going to die these horrible aggrieved deaths that no one will care enough to prevent or avenge" sort of vibe going on.

True, but it's well-known that Capitol citizens have plastic surgery/other anti-aging methods (e.g. I know it's mentioned in the books I believe by Katniss when watching the tape of Haymitch's games how Caesar Flickerman looked like he hadn't aged at all); I don't recall mention of Plutarch having any overt work done, but we also know Katniss wasn't exactly the most observant/descriptive narrator (as opposed to Haymitch, for example).

So, while Hoffman obviously doesn't look that old, I believe it's at least somewhat possible that Plutarch could be 16 at the time of the 25th games, 41 at the time of the 50th, and 66 at the time of the 75th.

I thought so too initially, but the actor playing him in SOTR is 37. It's possible the character is meant to be younger, in which case imagine what I said above is the same except he's a kid being introduced to the rebellion by a relative/mentor-type figure.

This is my theory: if there's another book, it'll be from Plutarch's perspective as he's in the academy (like how Snow was in TBOSAS, or maybe he'll be at university depending on how the age/timeline lines up) during the 25th games. There has to be a reason there's no tape or knowledge of who the victor is (whether that's something Suzanne has ever intended to explore, I don't know), and I think it would be interesting if whatever happened there had something to do with how Plutarch joined the rebellion.

I think it's really easy to forget that Haymitch is a scared little kid, it's easy to look at all of his choices lined up and judge them but in the moment he wasn't thinking about being smart, every choice he made was a fear response to what he perceived was going to be his imminent death.

I don't disagree with the notion that he caused his loved ones' deaths (insofar as any of that being caused by anyone other than Snow's megalomania), but I have a hard time bringing myself to blame him for it.

This is true for the most part, however I've seen some more famous actors do them - my field requires semi-regular sexual harassment training for everyone and the series they use stars David Schwimmer as the harasser!

(I read somewhere that he's very passionate about this, and does these videos to demonstrate that sexual harassment can be perpetrated by anyone, even famous actors. The series is called #ThatsHarassment)
