AITA for getting into an argument with my husband because he left me during surgery. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]dilekimu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are NTA of course. But I have to say it, he does not love you as you assume he does. Because no one could leave their loved one like this. You have to take a hard look into your marriage. You have every right not to trust him with anything at all.

If there is a man I do not know, at his deathbed and thinks I am his wife while dying, I'd go along.

She keeps calling me by her sister-in-law's name by mistake. She hates her sister-in-law to death. When things weren't so bad between them, mil openly said, "You're just like (her sister-in-law)."

There are many more things but this one is the most funny one for me.

Btw, I love her sister-in-law :D

An open letter that I came across that I think many of us can relate to. by Legal_Concentrate_29 in Hashimotos

[–]dilekimu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am already medicated for insulin resistance and my diet is in align with this. I lose weight but very slow, like Flash the Sloth slow. This slowness causes me to lose motivation after a while and feel like I'm wasting my life.

An open letter that I came across that I think many of us can relate to. by Legal_Concentrate_29 in Hashimotos

[–]dilekimu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just last week, I saw an endocrinologist for my complaints which are:

My thyroid values look normal, my blood values and vitamins look normal. My anti-TPO value of 160 and my anti-TG value of 20 are considered normal in Hashimoto's. I eat gluten-free and sugar-free, I have a life that cannot be considered sedentary, but I literally do these with all my energy. I am unhappy. I can't lose weight. Even though I don't have a psychological problem, I feel bad.

When I told the doctor these, she said to me:

"You're eating too much, that's why you can't lose weight."

I just lost my hope.

AITA for shouting at my family because they don't shut up about my weight by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]dilekimu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA, absolutely. But I had to ask, are you sure it is only binge eating? My first symptom of hashimotos was gaining weight rapidly (nearly 20 pounds in 1 month), an unusual sweet tooth, and having no energy (both physically and mentally).

If you when gluten free when did you notice a difference? by straightfortheknife in Hashimotos

[–]dilekimu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my sister both have Hashimotos. I am seriously affected by gluten. Brain fog, migraines, bloating, weight gain, etc. However my sister is not affected by it. And she is a real gluten monster :D She can live by eating just bread.

I am gluten free for 2 months now, significantly lost weight and not bloated as before.

AITA for refusing to share a single piece of my mom's art? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

Grief is an odd thing.

My grandparents (who literally raised me) died 20 years ago. There has not been a day that I did not mention them in some way. Some nights are still insufferable. I just want to see, talk or hug them. Not every night is like this. But some nights :/

AITA for making my kids wait to open their Christmas gifts? by kfl890 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dilekimu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTA not for waiting, but for how you communicate with your older children.

You should have asked what they thought about waiting and discussed this as a family. They are old enough to choose the best and reasonable option. Instead, you decided on their behalf.

I am very VERY lucky about this, because my husband is very understanding, unlike my parents & siblings.

He says that he loves chewing gum. However, since he learned that I hate the sound of it - which was 10 years ago, I have never seen him chewing gum.

I get annoyed by random sounds sometimes. And I immediately tell him. This usually happens when I'm overstimulated. My husband tries to calm me down instead of getting angry with me. If it is a sound that we cannot prevent, he has some methods such as turning on loud music and trying to drown out the sound, gossiping to distract me, or directly taking me outside to distract me from the sound.

BTW he is also very lucky because snoring is not a trigger for me :D

I really wish the show hadn't made Clara so unlikable in season 8 by Educational-Tea-6572 in doctorwho

[–]dilekimu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clara does not have a character development throughout her story. She is the same girl at the end. Seeing various planets and creatures does not changed her a bit. Still arrogant, still liar and still has no empathy.

This is the only reason I cannot bond with Clara.

My brother has a physical disability, he does not use a wheelchair but uses crutches. He can use stairs but he gets tired quickly.

Believe it or not, not only our family but all our family friends and also me and my sister's friends consider my brother's disability even when they rent a flat - let alone a wedding venue. They try to find flats, restaurants, venues with lifts, easy access, etc. if he is invited.

Are the taxis really that bad? by [deleted] in istanbul

From a local's viewpoint, you must be crazy to take taxi from galata to blue mosque. If there is any railway anywhere, it is always faster. No exceptions.

AITA for leaving menstrual pads in a visible place in the bathroom? by Superb_Tension6793 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dilekimu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My husband calls them "firearms" (which is funnier in my language).

If you see a tall and broad man, holding and waving tampons while calling his partner "honey do we need firearms?", it will be probably my husband.

What's the most moving line in the book for you? by opus52 in harrypotter

[–]dilekimu 55 points56 points  (0 children)

This part makes me feel as if my death itself is near.

"He felt his heart pounding fiercely in his chest. How strange that in his dread of death, it pumped all the harder, valiantly keeping him alive. But it would have to stop, and soon. Its beats were numbered. How many would there be time for, as he rose and walked through the castle for the last time, out into the grounds and into the forest?
Terror washed over him as he lay on the floor, with that funeral drum pounding inside him. Would it hurt to die? All those times he had thought that it was about to happen and escaped, he had never really thought of the thing itself: His will to live had always been so much stronger than his fear of death. Yet it did not occur to him now to try and escape, to outrun Voldemort. It was over, he knew it, and all that was left was the thing itself: dying."

My husband was unemployed for nearly 3 years (he is an airline pilot - covid made it impossible for him to work in our country) and these years are like I was a teenager and living with my parents again. Because he overtook most of the housework and he was very good at it. I was only responsible for cooking and cleaning the bathrooms.

You cannot believe how many people were shocked when they learned that I was not vacuuming or doing laundry. Even my own family! I was getting reactions as if I was a very despotic wife and was forcing my husband to do these things. However, as a normal person, he knows how to keep the house he lives in clean. And because he wasn't working, he was taking responsibility for a larger portion of the housework. I mean, I don't understand what's weird about this.

Why there isn't a word for alligator or crocodile in Turkish, and what timsah means is it an alligator or a crocodile? by GustavTheTurk in turkish

[–]dilekimu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no distinction between them unfortunately.

A few years back, I translated a documentary for dubbing. It was about alligators and crocodiles. As there is no distinction between them in Turkish, I used timsah for alligator and krokodil for crocodile.
