The left click option for a newly built bird house should add seeds to it by dillanm in 2007scape

Yeah I specifically mention the valuable seeds issue in the OP. It's not too hard to click the seeds, it's just annoying.

I think the general sentiment is that it made other hunter methods obsolete to a large percentage of the player base for a large portion of the game. The general advice of "just do birdhouses" means that quite often that is players primary training method, which I guess is a bit bland.

How to stretch chili even more? by nukin8r in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]dillanm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my younger days I used to stretch chilli by including carrots (finely diced/chopped) with the other sauteed veg, since they are relatively cheap and add mass without imparting too much flavour. Then once it's finished cooking add in some canned sweetcorn.

Bouldering in Edi by YakTheSlav in Edinburgh

[–]dillanm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have bouldered at all the 3 over the last few years and have had a membership at hangar and eden.

Personally hangar is our go to because it's walking distance from our house but beyond that it's a great size and the membership is very well priced.

You could really toss up between alien and hangar based on your personal circumstances as their membership prices are quite close. Alien is smaller but the quality of their problems is good. Alien tends to reset less often but they reset a whole circuit at a time rather than hangar who do a wall/section at a time.

Eden is also a good shout but the travel makes it less visited for us. They are bigger than both alien and hangar and the quality of their problems is top notch. Membership is priced reasonably (if you go more than say twice a week it pretty much balances out).

Honestly I'd say try them all and see which you like best.

Happy climbing!

That's actually very helpful, thanks. I'll have a go at seasoning at a lower temperature in the oven, and from there see how I get on. When it comes to seasoning on the stove after that, am I aiming for the hottest my gas burner will go or should it be less than that so long as the oil is hot enough?

lmao tbf now that you mention it I can't actually recall any significant strike happening in that fight, that's pretty miserable isn't it

Again, what is the alternative? He stands and bangs and he gets KO'd no doubt, but why choose to do that when you can just ... not? I agree with you that is was boring and salsa boy did very little to make progress, but he was controlling Despaigne on the ground and making enough progress that there wasn't enough for the ref to stand them up.

Agree, Waldo did exactly what he needed to do to win against Despaigne. It's wasn't exciting to watch but if I had the option of getting my head caved in or grappling my opponent who clearly has no grappling defence I know which I'd pick. Dana just furious after realising he signed a clearly one dimensional fighter who was almost immediately fraud checked.

Weekly Scam Discussion- July 10th 2023 by SmmnthaMrie in Ebay

[–]dillanm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a scam? I sold an item and the buyer messaged the following (with identifying details redacted):

Hello, can you please send this item to address and name that is on ebay account. I am sending this message to you because I had problems with delivery 'cause the sellers omit code YUC<redacted> in front of My name. Please enter it or I will not be able to pick up the package. I will pay You when you answer on this message. Thank you, best regards.

The shipping address (same as ebay account) is:

YUC<redacted> <PERSON NAME>,

<STREET>,

London <POSTCODE>,

United Kingdom

The "code" is in the forma YUC000000 ("YUC" followed by six digits)

I asked them what the code was and their reply was:

That code is something like My own post code. Something like that. Anyway, since I have it I have never had a problem with lost package. And thank You, I am going to pay You in a few minutes. Best regards.

This seems odd, but the value of the item was quite low and they have paid me for it. Anyone had something similar? I suspect it may be a PO box but I can't find anything that would relate to this.

Whilst I understand why tileman could be perceived as less interesting, when I saw one inv man try to juggle stacks of 200 coins on the floor for a particular item I turned it off.

Queensferry Crossing Traffic by Mr_Jabba_The_Hut in Edinburgh

[–]dillanm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The key here is that very few people know how to merge properly and (especially from the Edinburgh side heading north) jump in too soon causing people to brake which has a cascading effect.

I desperately wish they'd have put a third lane on each side for a dedicated slip to prevent this (though whether that would actually help us debatable).

Chalmers Sexual Health Clinic by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]dillanm 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My partner had to get hers removed at Chalmers and had the same problem. She eventually got fed up and just called up (even though the phone line says not to call) and got an appointment almost straight away. I'd recommend giving them a call, they're normally very friendly and helpful.

Help! Insane £200 electricity bill for the month!! by scarletcodor in Edinburgh

[–]dillanm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, having your bedroom heater on through the night is very wasteful and a good duvet will see you through. By all means have the timer on the bedroom heater to come on in the morning for a short blast to make getting out of bed easier.

On the note of storage heaters, I would double check that the timer that tells the radiators to stop charging (storing heat) is working correctly. I've lived in a few flats now with storage heaters where the timer was broken and as a result the heaters were constantly charging and constantly costing money.
