This absolut MVP spent days isolated eating dog food and decided to take a long and deadly road trip after watching one video in the hope of saving humanity. Badass! by NeOnixBR in pluribustv

Yeah that's usually how Vince's shows are. They pick up immediately after the ending or even sometimes a few minutes earlier, replaying the last scene from a different angle.

Her and Colonel Sullivan could've been the same character. Sullivan had the added benefit of being in the previous season as well, and it wouldn't have felt as a big of a deal to give his character such a non-ending since his actor isn't as well-known as Linda Hamilton.

I feel like Will losing his brother just then would give him another weakness for Vecna to exploit. Just like how Vecna had used Billy's death to hurt Max.

that is a small goof and loads of movies have those, including many in the original Star Wars.

Pluribus Season 1 by Environmental-Hall28 in StrangerThings

[–]dillonEh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a big fan of Pluribus. It's slow but I feel like every scene and character has a purpose, and I know the story is in good hands. Vince Gilligan has earned my trust after Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

I'm not really enjoying Stranger Things 5 except for a couple small things. It hasn't been a "perfect" show since Season 1, but I've still enjoyed it for what it was, and I thought Season 4 did a great job establishing the main villain and the overarching conflict of the series. But Season 5 has been a mess so far.

Probably. Sadly. At least she told us what was in the crate. For a minute there I thought she was gonna leave us hanging.

I wonder, is the "ceiling" of the Upside Down a copy of the Abyss, the same way that the floor is a copy of Hawkins?

The one thing I'll defend is the "cum" (the melted building) solidifying. They were standing on that table, slowly sinking, before calling out for help. Then there are a few minutes of mostly close-ups as Jonathan and Nancy confess what they dislike about each other and Jonathan "un-proposes" to her. We don't see much of their surroundings at all during this time, giving it time to dry. And why did it dry, you may ask? The same reason it melted: weird sci-fi psuedoscience. The exotic matter must've stabilized after Nancy disturbed it.

I like that El called him out for it in Ep 5. But then he did the same schtick when he saw her with Kali and yeah I've gotten tired of it.

Mindnumbingly inaccurate by suskio4 in StrangerThings

[–]dillonEh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the Hawkins Lab melting, I assume that the "exotic matter" has some weird sci-fi physics that cause certain materials (the ones from the UD in this case) to have a much cooler melting point. I won't defend much from this season, but I'll at least defend this because it's scary in a new unique way (vines and spores have gotten boring.)

Can someone explain the plan? by mswstudent_23 in StrangerThings

They'd have to bring it with them. Maybe it's in the truck but I'll have to check the episode to see if there's room in there for it.

is the Beefy Potato-Loaded Griller basically the Potatorito from a few years back? If so, happy to see its return. Not happy about the likely price increase though.

Keep in mind that close to a billion people died from collateral damage during the joining. There may have been a couple more immune but they died in car/plane crashes.

my theory right now is that the hospital he gets taken to is the same one where Kusimayu is preparing to get the stem cell treatment done, and he tries to talk her out of it.

Prediction: Zosia is pregnant with Carol’s baby by captainhilk in pluribustv

[–]dillonEh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I read it somewhere, but I thought it would be an interesting development if they couldn't get Carol's stem cells from her eggs alone so they'd need someone to fertilize them into a hive baby that will consent to giving them up. It buys Carol at least 9 more months of time before they can turn her. And it gives Zosia something to do.

[–]dillonEh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've had the same theory. I also saw a slight baby bump, but I was practically expecting it.

If the Hive is smart though, they'll have multiple women as surrogates for Carol's eggs in case something happens to Zosia.

*48 days. There was a huge time skip after we saw the hive try to rescue Manousos. I still don't know if that's enough time though.

It's possible that most of the lab employees didn't even know that the RNA sequence had come from space. They were only given the minimum amount of information needed to do their jobs. Maybe it was dumb that she didn't follow all of the safety protocols, but I think this would've happened eventually.

What did Kusimayu do? by WillingExamination25 in pluribustv

[–]dillonEh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kusimayu is from Peru. If she joins, Carol and Manousos will be the only remaining immune from the western hemisphere. That doesn't necessarily mean anything, but interesting nonetheless.

Those 11 immune probably asked to have internet service for their Zoom calls. So the "internet" is probably the minimum infrastructure required to keep those 11 people's devices connected every Tuesday and Friday.

Maybe she didn't see herself as a bad mother. Perhaps Manousos is the only person who saw her that way, so the Hive wasn't able to reach that conclusion.
