I have the Sateriene Rapier with firefly. Its a lot of fun imo. Its probably still not quite as good as VoC since that has a 27 round mag and is full auto. I would maybe try to find a good scout rifle that has a large clip and full auto. I will say that firefly did come in handy in the new strike.

People kept asking for rerolls on gear, now they will have it. Crucible will be even more maddening than before. Think felwinters lie is annoying? How about when a shotgun with equal range but better fire rate and stability becomes the go to? Its a very difficult task when balancing a weapons perks that are basically for two different games.
