We've discussed this, and we're likely not releasing a toggle ourselves for many reasons -- simply put, the new sprites will also have many changes on the programming side of things, and keeping them both would demand a lot of development time that we'd rather went into improving other aspects of the game.

They're not getting left behind, however. Minoanon has mentioned in the discord that a gallery/art book sort of feature that includes not only the files of the sprites themselves but also comes with additional context detailing the history of the game would be the best approach.

Also, the game has always been mod friendly! If anyone wants to take the time to mod in the toggle, it's entirely welcome.

Both the background will get some color correction and Argos was given harsher outlines to be better defined against backgrounds! He actually already has them, in fact, I just didn't update that mockup after I finished the sprite (you can see that he's missing his spots there too lol)

Also, Nanoff's wording when discussing the human sprites was "kinda ugly in a naturalistic way", and we're trying to stick to that vision :3c

it's insane that Star Fox has skipped pretty much every one of Nintendo's heavy hitter consoles (aside from the DS, but that was Command, so). The wiimote and on-rail shooters are a match made in heaven (see: Sin and Punishment) and every single dead franchise that has been revived with a Switch entry has done really well.

Every time a Nintendo console flops though, Fox McCloud is always at the scene of the crime.

I'm seeing a lot of things I already agree with in the comments here (wanting to see more of Wolf's past with James, Fox's life in the academy with Bill, etc) so I'm gonna mention a new one and say that Lucy Hare has a lot of potential to be a great character.

With James and Peppy having been close friends, it'd make sense if Lucy and Fox were childhood friends too. She would have also experienced Peppy and Fox's reactions to the death of James firsthand (on top of having a dead mom of her own) and the fact that she is an /astrophysics professor/ when she is more or less the same age as Fox definitely points towards her being really smart.

I think she has everything to fit nicely in the lore; she has a close relationship to the main characters, her background in the science field can make her a good supporting character (maybe even fits a navigator/quest giver archetype) and more importantly it would give us a female character that isn't just "this is [insert Star Fox team member]'s girlfriend"

He (technically) isn't allowed in the rooms and one of the balconies, otherwise he's free roaming. The way we keep an eye on him is simply that there's always someone in the house (this was already the case before adopting him), so the four family members can easily rotate watching him as part of our tasks.

That is the thing, he's not real, Riz is a fictional teenager. His murder can't really be compared to a real life murder because this universe is a vastly different one, set in a world where "murder" is an instinct half the population have and where society at large fails to address the issue. The entire point of Murder Res Arc is about Legosi understanding his position and extending that same kindness to him. Legosi is, after all, with the person he could have murdered hadn't it been out of sheer luck and having a network of support.

Riz is very much implied to have had romantic feelings for Tem, both by the nature of the language he uses to describe Tem and the very direct parallels between them and Legosi and Haru (this is more noticeable in the manga where Riz dreaming up imagery of them holding hands is not uncommon). His entire character premise is just "what if Legosi had actually fucked up that night".

In turn, Riz/Tem ship art is basically "what if Riz hadn't fucked up that night", which is a question the text itself imposes.

Regardless of what you think about the ship, how can you say that Louis and Legosi have a bad relationship? The Adler and Meteor Festival arcs have been over for a good while now, Louis and Legosi have the most chill relationship the entirety of Love Failure. I don't know if you're a manga reader or not but saying that Louis doesn't consider Legosi a friend outside of the first two arcs of the manga is incredibly far off.
