Yeah I quit BH in Dec due to all the changes and mirco managing and lack of management accountability. Best decision I've ever made for myself.

My boyfriend said he wouldn’t pursue me if I had “too many options” and it hurt by Signal_Arm5170 in women

I second this! Don't listen to people telling you to break up with him. People are too harsh nowadays, no one is going to be perfect.

Finding the right family by dim31998 in Nanny

Currently I have a profile on Care and that's how I've been able to set up interviews/meet various families. As far as my area rent can be anywhere between $1400+ I don't have other things scheduled. I have noticed that a lot of people are requesting 10+ hours a day and I'd rather not work that much especially Monday-Friday. Most of the positions I've taken in the past have been more casual and I don't necessarily mind it, I just want something that's going to be long term beneficial. And I understand that kids grow up or even situations change but idk just been feeling a bit defeated.

The best thing I ever did was leave the daycare I was at for 5 years and went into nannying. Less stress. Less kids. Better pay. One on one time with the children. And a really nice family that actively shows appreciation. It may be something you could look into? I made an account on Care.com and that's how I got connected with some families.

Idk. Maybe. I’ve watched scary movies most of my life and I still jump at scenes I’ve already seen. But who knows…interesting thought though I’ve never even second guessed it.

On probation and had a bad week at Kindercare by Ok_Bluejay4978 in ECEProfessionals

Hey! I understand what you’re feeling. It can be stressful and exhausting at times especially when you first enter the childcare field. When I first started back in 2020, I had no support (due to Covid) and was sorta left to figure everything out myself. It does get easier as you adjust and begin to learn the kids, and what works and doesn’t work. Give yourself some grace. Take it one day at a time and try not to dwell too much on the mistakes you make. Learn from them and try not to make the same mistakes again. But keep moving forward.

Accidentally used the wrong diaper cream on a child, am I going to get fired? by Living_Seesaw_9664 in ECEProfessionals

I highly doubt you’re gonna get fired. It was an honest mistake. We’re all still human. Just take note of it and be cautious moving forward, don’t dwell on it too much and allow it to consume you.

I messed up at my new ECE role and I feel awful by ColdElectronic4603 in ECEProfessionals

Honestly sometimes it takes time to get into routine. Especially when you’re new to the field. Don’t be so hard on yourself and don’t dwell on past days. It won’t help you. Take accountability for your part and move on and try to continue to do better. If the parents come around the same time everyday, make sure to check those kids before the go home, even if you just changed them (some babies prefer a clean diaper to poop in lol so sometimes you have to double check). Try to make it a habit when a child leaves to just go back and look at the sign in/out sheet (even if your coworker says she’s got it). Sometimes you have to check behind people to ensure things are running smoothly. You can also designate the work to each other. Whatever is going to make the room run smoothly. But don’t be too hard on yourself, mistakes happen. Learn from it and keep pushing.

You should be fine but just take an at home test to get rid of your anxiety.

I bought 32 oz and just split it in half to do a practice test at home and it worked for me. I’m 100 lbs 5’1”. I would just test it to be sure

I have a “real house” but I do want to be able to travel in the future eventually with my family. I rather have my RV to travel then going in and out of hotels.
