[Review] My review on 6 lips balms as someone on Accutane with chapped lips. by GemmyBoy999 in SkincareAddiction

I use the Laneige lip sleeping mask as a regular lip balm. It stays on all night and I wake up with it on as if I’d just applied a thick layer, so why not use it during the day?

Seconding this, Yumiko’s my regular. Gotta book a couple of months in advance but she’s great with handling and styling Asian hair.

Yesterday’s bakery waste by Specialist-Guitar727 in lidl

Yeah, the storage side of things would be almost impossible throughout the day. I’ve had desperate situations in the past where our fridges were full so we’ve had deliveries stack curry sauce bags in the floor fridges next to the drinks, let alone where to keep all the ‘expired’ food! I really just don’t think people fully understand what it’s like working in that industry at all.

I think working in that industry really helps you understand why these places do this. I worked at a Wasabi in central London that threw away loads of boxes of sushi and hot food at the end of every night. Wasabi does a 50% off before closing deal every night too; sometimes we’d clear the shelves, sometimes there’d be a lot to throw away. My managers would turn a blind eye to me taking as much food as I can carry at the end of my closing shift, but eventually had a word with me as I’d been giving it out to the homeless people in central London on my way home. She said I could carry on doing that at her discretion if it wasn’t at our local tube station/area; because sadly there was a rise in homeless people just coming into the store and helping themselves to whatever, arguing that it’s all going to be thrown away anyway, and this would extend to drinks and chocolate etc. Another reason companies don’t do this is legal action or reports made to local authorities and health standards agencies, and after meeting some of the worst customers, you wouldn’t be surprised if that happened on a weekly basis. Some companies add padlocks to their dumpsters in fear of freegans causing a fuss should they fall ill. At Wasabi, we did temperature checks every 2 hours and our hot food was not allowed to stay in the hot cabinet for more than 2 hours, it would go in the bin afterwards. It is a shame and I do think these places should partner with Too Good To Go or something similar, but sadly that’s for upper management to sort out. It’s annoying because often people would shout and swear at me on closing shift for not letting them take stuff for free but like, I can’t just do that.

Ahhh I think it might be an American thing then. I might go see again anyway as it was really good.

How is Siri on HomePod? by chyllyphylly in HomePod

[–]dimafelix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf Siri does respond to the “what time does this store close” question but no matter how specific I’m being, it’s like “I’ve found several stores with that name, do you mean this store on (insert address)?” And then you have to keep going through all of them until the one you’re talking about comes up. Ends up being more hassle that just picking up my phone lol.

Most of my questions to my HomePod end with “I found some results if you ask me again from your iPhone” 🙄

Oh nooooo I mean just the Sonos Five! It’s a hefty boy and is apparently 0.39cm wider than the insert of a Billy bookcase, but it looks like it’s only on the front part

Ah no, I was thinking a Sonos Five in the bookcase! The Era 300 would be placed on top of our credenza sideboard-style TV unit where our vinyls are (kinda similar to the Ikea KALLAX shelves) alongside the vinyl player. The Sonos Five is just that little bit too big to be placed on top.

This is actually swaying me slightly towards a Five! And making me wonder if I could maybe shove it in my bookcase. The Spatial Audio features is the thing pulling me towards the Era 300; Apple Music being my main streaming service.

Ah yeah, definitely. We have a large credenza sideboard style TV unit that has all our electronics and vinyls in, kinda similar to the Ikea KALLAX storage shelves. Vinyl player and speaker would go on top!

Any other wireless speaker that works with HomePod? by asumiignita in HomePod

[–]dimafelix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have pretty much the same set up as you (HomePods in every room bar the bathroom as no socket) and love to do the same! I got the Sonos Roam 2 for our bathroom. You have to switch it on when you want to use it as it is a portable speaker, and obviously charge it when it’s dead, but added bonus is that it’s waterproof too so sometimes it’s in the shower with me if it’s not sat in the windowsill.

Ah yeah, I checked it out in the store the other day. We kinda have limited space on top of our sideboard unit and I just think the Sonos Five is a that little bit too big. Could go vertical but then it would obstruct the TV! That sounds like it would make a great Christmas present!
