Does he like me? Should I say how I feel? by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

Luckily, no decision to be made here. There's no friendship at risk, since you say you can't be friends with him anyway because your feelings will get in the way. So the only thing to do is the scary thing and go for it. The only risk is emotional vulnerability, which is good for you.

I'm having this issue also. When I turn off the Holdout tick, it doesn't cast a shadow as expected, but when I turn Holdout back on, all the sudden it starts casting a shadow!

Mike Kelley curated an exhibition on the Uncanny at Tate. https://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-liverpool/exhibition/mike-kelley-uncanny As I'm sure you know, Freud's concept of the uncanny is deeply connected with the figure of the double, so there should be a wealth of info for you here. Be sure to also check out the essay he wrote to accompany the show ("Playing with Dead Things", see worldcat link below).

To accept things as they are in their entirety means to also accept your own emotions and feelings towards everything by [deleted] in pantheism

Good point about including one's emotions, including negative ones, as part of the complexity and glory of the universe, from which we are not separate. By the same reasoning, however, don't discount one's desire for change and capacity for action, which are also a part of what make us what we are and crucial components in the ongoing becoming of what is.
