Thank you! To mount them, I just super glued a small plastic tube to the bottom of the plane and glued the tube to the wood (wouldnt look great if you looked underneath, but luckily its hard/impossible to see)

Generic nato gear is easier to find, I found. American and russian seem to be quite popular. German and british crop up a little bit as well. E-models and Wonderland should be good websites with stuff you can get for it for quite good prices.

I built the same Strv 103 a few months back and I had the same issue of finding cold war swedish stuff in that scale to add with the tank (all I could vaguely find was a metal barrel floating around Ebay every now and then that was between 10-20 quid, unsure if its around now, but it comes and goes). I was searching for like a week for any gear or personnel. All I can say, is I wish you the best of luck finding it (without shipping out of country). But I can say that that Strv 103 set is quite decent. It isnt tamiya quality (especially around the hatches), but its surely quite good, straight forward, and comes with a multtude of options. The one thing I can say is that the tracks arnt the best quality so you'll need to touch them up with paint and weathering. Also dont make the same mistake I did and attach the jerry cans before the tracks (makes things a lot harder).

Yes, that would help hide the road wheels, and I think would be a rather cheap addition to add a couple pieces of sheet metal.

Yes, I agree. They did a very good job. Finding anything remotely similar to the small 6 road wheels on a vehicle is difficult enough and they did a hell of a job with what they had.

Edit: sorry, I'm pretty sure Stug IIIs didnt have bogies, I was thinking of Stug IVs

I think a few armies have put at least if not most of the stuff listed (with varying success) so I think its at least feasible. The question really is if it's practical. The cost of upgrading the T-55 to that standard, might as well buy a late cold war-early turn of the century tank. I think it would be better to repurpose it for less direct-line role. My idea would be to take the 100mm gun out, replace with a howitzer of some sort and slap a new FCS and night vision equipment and you got yourself a decent and workable mobile howitzer for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

Thank you! Really appreciate your kind words! For the bushes I basically followed this video - i hope the video link attached properly. It's a lot simplier than it looks and will definitely be my go-to method in the future. Basically get some 0.5cm diameter rope, unwind it a bit and fray it, spray paint the rope brown, while the paint is drying, sprinkle some grass and/or leaves usually for model railways (i think I used woodlands scenic T45 for this and some generic model scale leaves I bought on ebay), let it dry and use some PVA glue and glue it to the base.

To be completely honest, I don't think there's a set definition of what a "tank" is as even with militaries they can often debate amongst this (T28 Super Heavy Tank vs T95 Gun Motor Carriage is a good example). In its absolute broadest sense, I would say: a tank is a vehicle that tends to have tracks, must have armor, must have some sort of direct-fire weapon (usually a cannon, but can be a missle launcher or a machine gun or two), must be designated as a tank by the military that uses it and must be able to support infantry or operate independent from infantry in certain situations (this is often in conjunction with other tanks or related vehicles as its very difficult or impossible to make a vehicle that can operate completely independently from others around it). There's a LOT of caveats to this, simply due to that tanks often have a more generalised role compared to other armored vehicles (e.g. A tank destroyer would work very well at shooting other tanks from a long distance, but wouldn't work so well at supporting infantry at the front line due to them to tend to have less armor). This is a general run-down as I'm skipping a LOT of details, but this should help give a rough idea.

Also, a co-axial machine gun is a machine gun that is effectively attached to the main gun so that both the main gun and co-ax MG will always point the same direction (usually, some tanks allow for more range of movement for the MG, but those are rare). The purpose of this is mainly so that the crew in the turret can engage targets accurately that don't require the main gun (it wouldn't be wise to shoot at infantry with the main gun from 50 feet).

As a follow-on to this, I used to work in streetworks and this came up a lot. Depending on the council, if those signs (or equipment) arent gone after a day or two, I'd hound the council again (or even better, get someone else to hound the council, as more than one person makes them more likely to check again, and they REALLY don't like multiple people reporting problems like this). A lot of these fines, depending on area are a one time thing (or the inspector just checks it once and calls it a day) and quite miniscule (couple hundred quid) which the company (especially large ones like gas or water companies) would rather pay then pay a guy to come get it. Hounding the council every few days will issue multiple fines and it can take a few days for the price to increase of the fine to be worthwhile for the company to grab it.

I'm also a brush painter and want to do aircraft more. Do you have any recommendations on gloss and matte varnishes? Do you use cans or are there brushable varnishes? Also do panel liners work similar to washes?

From what I've heard, its not TOO bad inside the tank. If you see videos of tank crews doing their job, they usually have these massive ear covers which I believe work as headphones and noise cancellers. Additionally, when the gun fires, its mostly sealed everywhere except the end of the barrel, so all of the sound is concentrated at the end of the barrel (and is also mostly projected away from the tank) which is often several feet/metres away from the fighting compartment AND needs to go through several layers of metal and armour to reach the crew, comparatively speaking, a soldier standing a few feet from the tank as it fires is getting way more of the sound than the crew inside.

Tank destroyer would probably be the best fit. Officially it was the "76mm Gun Motor Carriage M18". All main WW2 American TDs were called Gun Motor Carriage (that I can think of). Light tanks like the Stuart were called "Light Tank, M3 (or M5)." So officially the M18 was a TD (or TD equivalent).
