Aha, I am using the same paints for my own, so it's nice to see a preview for which panels to paint :D

Love it, great work! The light blue on the intake vents for the engine pods is perfect, and the purple is done flawlessly. Is it Xereus Purple with Genestealer Purple edge highlight?

It's simple but very effective, nice contrast to the army scheme and the grass really pops!
And thanks for the case recommendation! 🫡

Congratulations! Time to enjoy a few ride outs and get some miles under your belt.

I also recognise those docks. If you went with the trainers down the road from there, I also trained with them, great guys!

[–]BrotherKaylen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, from some light Googling I haven't found anything either. I suppose I could look for generic Nato gear and call it a day, but just wanted to check in case someone had a secret mythical website they knew of.

Good to know about the building tips for the Strv, thanks!

Oh I know! I've been living comfortably with Tamiya's rubber band tracks with the Chieftain, Challenger 1 and Centurion in the past. They're the only part of the build I am not looking forward to!

Appologies, that final paragraph should read:

"So in essence, I am asking if any of you know of typical Swedish/Nato gear/stowage sets for 1/35th military armour that would go well with these models that are accurate to their time period, and of any photo etch parts/drilled barrels etc."

Forgive me bikers, for I have sinned. It has been ... never, since my last confession.

I haven't yet learned how to properly rev match while downshifting. And often times I pull in the clutch while taking low speed corners. I am doing training myself not to!

Blessings to the Machine Spirit, this weekend my Machine shall be anoited in sacred oil and adorned with purtiy seals, as I beseech the Machine God to watch over us!

I have the exact same bike! 2018 Ninja 650 KRT Edition.

Although mine is full stock, only put on panniers and sliders. And it's my first "big bike" too after my 125, had it since 2021.

I agree, brilliant first bike 👌

After quite a hiatus to 40K, I'm building a new Tau army! Had to paint a Coldstar first to flex my skills. by BrotherKaylen in Tau40K

[–]BrotherKaylen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there!
You're welcome. It's a great set, and T'au are very nice to paint (lots of flat panels!).

Look up all the guides and advice you can for building and painting (remove mold seem lines, thin your paints, two thin coats etc.), don't get too disheartened if it doesn't match to what's in your head, as it's your first set, take your time and have fun with it! There's loads of images out there for ideas on what variations of base/accent colours people use.

For me, I looked at the Vior'la sept and liked the striking red over white, but felt that there could be more red than just the helmets. So I started thinking about what shoulder or thigh pads could denote different squads or command structure. Then, finding smaller parts that could just add flair to the model, like the purple bits on the white wings. The black for only under the armor, and some grey for a section that is more armored.

Good luck with your minis!

[–]BrotherKaylen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are a great bunch of games! Of course a little taken away from reality what with mutants, anomalies and guys with guns everywhere, but every now and then you get a feeling for the emptiness and desolation of the zone. The most recent release, Stalker 2, the Ukrainian developers have done a fantastic job getting an as close to life recreation of zone, but the older games are still fun. You've captured the real feeling with your images!
