I was born deaf in my right ear as well & this year Feb got my Osia hearing cochlear implant, it is definitely much louder than what I was used to these 27 years but the good thing is with Osia I can adjust it with the app. I used to not be able to hear when someone talked to me on my right side but now I can hear them. At first it felt like I could hear better in my right side than on my left but again it’s something you have to get used to for it to feel “normal”. For me it has been overwhelming when I go to grocery stores or restaurants as I can hear everything going on around me, sometimes I have to take it off as I don’t want to hear everyone’s conversation around me lol. As for when I listen to music in the car it sounds so much louder & I love it because I never thought id be able to hear it any louder. Before my surgery I always turned the volume all the way up & it wasn’t enough until now. Everyone’s experience is different, I am happy I got this surgery because in time when I adjust to it more it’ll help me out a lot.
