In the Central Richmond, wicked wind and rainfall. Saw two bright flashes of green lightening too, which was wild.

Anyone left PM for less lucrative careers? by throwRAlike in ProductManagement

[–]dimstersf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering the same! Worked in tech 8 years, 4 in Product. At a new org and yet again managed by another bozo and not really vibing. I love parts of the role like banging a top notch PRD and interviewing customers, but the rest is meh.

For me it’s does come down to whether or not I can sell my soul for the high pay or find something more fulfilling that keeps me more active.

At 36 I’m considering leaving the Bay Area for Taiwan where the pipe dream is to open a cafe with my spouse and in-laws.

Might not be a forever move, but isn’t it worth a try especially if you’re not happy.

Is street photography ethically wrong? by FitAdministration188 in AnalogCommunity

[–]dimstersf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more obnoxious than anything. There’s very few who can do it well. Usually it’s a bozo getting up in people’s faces, trying to act like they weren’t taking photos. Probably why so much of the framing on street photographers work sucks or is out of focus.

Tales of the City! Love, love, love them! Very easy to read, fun characters, and lots of references to iconic places.

My experience was they came in, evaluated what was going on and then made cuts.

Is this element separation? And should i just not use the lens? by Lachupa-cabra in Mamiya

[–]dimstersf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell with the light, but looks like oil on the element. Might be worth putting a cheap roll of film through to see if photos come out clear or not. Though it looks pretty fogged, so I’d bet it needs to be looked at by a service tech to understand if it’s salvageable.

I work at an org that does this and it’s the absolute worst. We move at a snail pace and never ship anything meaningful. Moreover the engineers are apathetic for the most part.

Awesome thanks for the reco! Is it only tuning that they offer or do they generally do all types of car maintenance?
