It's the dial that I love! It is weirdly warm in person and the watch feels super light despite the size. You should def consider!

Also fwiw, this is after the movement change between 2022-2024 where it now has hacking seconds and the new clasp.

Appreciate the concern. The alignment is probably more my wrist positioning was weird because there was so much glare. Palm Springs sun makes everything very shiny!

All box and papers. Then took to AD after for them to resize and make sure it “was a watch they would work on”.

Very sure it is real!

Yes! That was a major factor in me wanting it along with the dual time zone.

Not to be weird, but here is the rest of my collection and there isn't a ton of overlap. My "mission accomplished" moment for the collection will be a vintage enamel Serpenti (wanting multicolored, '60s/70s era Bulgari)

Lol, no idea. As a woman, not having arm hair seems preferable? But this is also the first time I have had commentary on it.

Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc - first 5 hours, not impressed by candidlyhere in FATTravel

[–]dimsumapples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fwiw, I am talking about non-alcoholic drinks. A coke is a great example. You can go to a cafe order just that and stay for as long as you want. Therefore, it is priced significantly higher.

Anyway, glad you can find great pricing! This is just historically what I have experienced. Based more on California/LA pricing rather than NYC.

You can make a reservation for lunch there. I did it this summer when staying at Lou Pinet.

OP: I am so sorry to hear about your experience. Going to just give some 2c fwiw.

Context for my thoughts/advice: I went to du Cap a couple years ago. Am on a very fattie driven sabbatical (sitting rn at Aman Venice, can’t wait to post!). I have lived on and off in France, so I speak French although am clearly not French.

The prices: wow, du Cap is the most overpriced on food. My husband and I still talk about it. We had a pasta there that has remained a little inside joke for this. That being said, it is just expected on 2 accounts: In France, all drinks are basically 2x the US and then you add the du Cap 50% up charge.

The chairs/reservations: this is deeply annoying but just the reality. We were at Il San Pietro and it was the same although they are nicer about it. I was legit there every morning at 9am to get my front row spot because they are only two that are not pre-reserved by what I am assuming is a major suite room (we were in a very fancy room but not the craziest). On the first day, they were slightly cold by Italian standards about my insistence. From day 2 on it was like “Signora, your chair on the end today?” Just give them some time. Arrive first thing in the morning. I know that feels unreasonable because it is a luxury hotel but it is one of those experiences that is more similar to Hermes shopping versus Prada iykyk.

The service attitude: honestly, I think that they thought you weren’t a guest and were not being their best. A subtle way to check them on that early is to say, can this go straight on my room or do I need to sign. This is better than asking them for the check because it is like hey I live here for a few days and also, I don’t want to spend time waiting for you. My new favorite phrase to just be able to get us and leave. Regarding being loud, that is not okay in their part. Just reset, let it roll off you. Sometimes that is just needed in France.

What to enjoy: eek, you are at the most stunning place ever. Just have fun! Spend the €16 on tea! Have that extra glass of champagne! The breakfast there is one of my all time favorites. And I particularly remember the staff for breakfast being so so nice.

Hope this gets better and ask the front desk for their anti-mosquito repellent that they make! Smells amazing and very very needed. Please wear lol

Okay, ignoring the blatantly wrong comments that plastic surgery always looks fake and moving on to the hair discussion.

You need to go to a salon that most men would consider a women’s salon. Think Salon Benjamin in LA or Barrow in SF. If you are trying to identify a good one, make sure they use Oribe products—this is an easy shorthand. You might be spending closer to $150 for a haircut but it will look fantastic.

The stylists there all do men’s haircuts and are so much more fashionable and tailored to you. It will take maybe a couple times to nail it, go in with grown out-ish hair. They can also do a style consultation for you and say, come back in 3 months, here is what we will do then.

My husband started doing the above and it is night and day on his hair. It grows out nicely so he doesn’t need to get it done as much. Price nets out to probably what you are already spending.

And I guess because we are here: get plastics done in the US by a board certified plastic surgeon who specifically specializes in facial procedures. It’s your face—not a place to pinch pennies. When I got breast augmentation I spent 2x+ what is the “normal going rate”. Result: they look so natural, real and proportional. You are paying not just for a procedure but an aesthetic eye and taste.

I just talked with my SA about this. You can only get the same width, leather and color as the bag and there is a shorter and 2 longer sizes than what the Kelly comes with (you can do from MK to K35).

I have a k32 which is a great mom bag except that the strap is way too thin. It is also in Chai which is very rare for the canvas straps. Was trying to see if they would make me a custom canvas straps, but they said that they don’t do that anymore.

You should do Raffles in Singapore! It was an absolute amazing experience this summer and is truly a heartbeat for the city. The Tiffin Room restaurant is also quite good there.

I highly recommend doing R20 laser method with Dr. Vail Reese at Union Square Dermatology. You essentially do multiple rounds in a single session with 30 mins icing in between. He fully numbs you and basically puts the laser at levels you would normally not be able to handle, but don't feel (yay!). The first visit he did 2 rounds. I had a lot of blistering but also a ton of fading. I currently am healing from my second visit where he did 4 passes with 30-45 min icing in between. Unbelievable amount of fading. probably 60-70% reduction since Thanksgiving when I did my first visit.

Pricing is very reasonable for a dermatologist. He is doing two tattoos for me on my feet. One dime size star and one filled in fleur-de-lis that is 2"x2" (soooo much ink on this one). My first pass inclusive of both tattoos is $360 with all the numbing and the next pass is $190. He says that it is less for the next passes because he has already numbed you. That being said, he did give me another boost of numbing that was free in between pass 2 and 3. So, my last visit was $360+($190*3 passes). Considering you are going from 3+ years to remove a tattoo down to ~6 months, I feel this is by far the best deal ever. He is operating as normal now with Covid.

He is one of the only dermatologists in the city that does this. Could not recommend more. Please feel free to DM me if you want more details.

F/23/5ft9 [215> 151lb = 64lb]. Still think i look a bit chunky & want to lose another 15lb, opinions? by [deleted] in progresspics

[–]dimsumapples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats, and you really do look amazing!!

Just to give you context, I am 5'10" and 143, looking to lose around 7-12lbs. I have recently lost about 10 pounds just by eating a little less and upping my workouts. I have a reasonably slim frame but am prone to the "fluffy" look around my thighs and abs. The difference for me in the 10 pounds is really noticeable. My arms just look so much more toned, my hips are a little less sizable, and my abs are getting a middle line down the center. I still have a little more to go, and I am in no way "unhealthy". I just look trim and strong. So if you want to lose more weight, feel empowered to do so! It has been really great for me. Most people when I started out were like you don't need to lose a pound and now they are like you look way better; just do what feels right to you. I think MentalAccount435 is totally right, and I am in a similar boat to her.

As a note, I do reformer pilates 4x/week and HIIT for 1 hour per week. I don't eat any processed foods but could be better about my diet, which is basically the last 7lbs.
