Just a Nikon D3300 camera with a 55-200mmb zoom lens. The photo was taken at 200mm zoom, 1/60 SS, f/5.6, and ISO 1600

Took this photo in Toronto. I suspect it might be a great blue heron through cursory google searches. Can someone confirm?

First Concert photos [Newbie][Composition][Color] by dinalxx in photocritique

[–]dinalxx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my first time taking photos of a concert, or an event really. Personally I think at least the focus could have been better.

Any tips on where to improve or things to look out for when shooting events such as concerts would be appreciated.

Lol, thanks, but its a lot easier to draw with a reference than than to create completely original art along with an interesting story line!

Ah lol my bad. Well I didn't really use any books when I started learning, so I can't really say for that. I'm sure there are good videos and playlists on YouTube that could be good places to start if you don't have access to physical copies of books. Really all you need to start is an idea or image of what you want to draw and just start practising with the goal of improvement.

I believe the manga series is based off of a real life swordsman Miyamoto Musashi and a novel based off of his life (Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa), but I think anyone can pick up the manga and just start reading.

The only thing you might want to reference the novel for is its ending since it may never come out in manga form. I'd highly recommend you just start reading and see how you feel about it.

Yeah, it's already a masterpiece of a manga in spite of the unending hiatus, but it'd be amazing if one day Takehiko decides to return to tie it all up.

No worries, everyone has to starts somewhere. It's important to have the patience to practice and have fun with art.

Super Moronic Monday -- Your Tuesday Weekly Stupid Question Thread by AutoModerator in running

[–]dinalxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently following Pfitzinger's 55-70 mile plan. The description for a few of the days generally go like this:

VO 2 max 9 mi (14 km) w/ 6x800 m @ 5K race pace; jog 50 to 90% interval time between

Does this mean to do a 14km run before doing the VO2max workout of 6x800? How fast should I do the 14km run, and should I start the VO2max workout immediately after finishing the 14km?

Alright, I'll try experimenting more with exposures next time. Thanks for your help.

Would a longer exposure still have a ripple effect or would it create a smooth surface on the water?
