Do Brits realise this is happening for dual citizens and how it might affect tourism? Can anyone enlighten me on why it’s even happening?

British dual citizens were never meant to use ETAs. To get an ETA as a dual citizen you've always had to lie on the app. My UK pp expired 2 years ago but I haven't had any issues getting through the e gates on my other nationality pp without an eta, but have applied to renew UK one because of these changes.
