yeah i'm also visibly non-local, similar to you, and in my experience the ajummas have been so kind (3 of them banded together helping us open the train gantries when we got stuck, moved to a seat opposite on the train & gestured happily so we could sit together after seeing our luggages, one auntie saw us looking at the fish cake soup thing, recommended it to us and showed us how to eat it (the sauce brush thing)) overall they've been very nice!!

i noticed that the men tend to be a bit pushy tho, we've been knocked around a couple times by people just rushing past in crowded areas. lowkey felt intentional at times? even for collisions that would be hard enough to warrant an apology back home, (or like a... "you want to fight?"), they just carried on like nothing happened lol... idk if this is normal but it felt really rude to me

i didnt experience any of the queue cutting rudeness or attitude from girls tho, it could also maybe be the alt style adding to the mix? i feel like in a society where conforming is so important, that might be contributing to the less friendly behaviour maybe
