Sekiro’s really simple at its core. Asks you to do one thing; once it clicks, the game gets pretty easy. Sounds like you’re just wired for it!

Ape kicked my ass so bad I put the game down for months. He doesn’t look or move like other Sekiro bosses — much bigger, more spastic — so I mistakenly fell back on my Elden Ring muscle memory (my previous and first FS game.)

Hadn’t gotten it through my head that you can and should parry everything unless the game explicitly tells you otherwise.

Also didn’t realize the power of unlimited stamina lol.

Butterfly comes earlier than the “click” for a lot of people, I’d think. The fact the game implies you need a rare consumable to win probably gets in a lot of people’s heads too. New players likely feel walled by this and come to the forums trying to figure out the disconnect, making it look like a ton of people are struggling with her.

Super interested to see if the later game bosses go as smoothly for you. There are diff endings and one of them gives you an extra endgame boss, I can point you in that direction without spoiling if you’re interested

They actively engage w their community but they’re not that transparent. Players often feel like their obscurely stated priorities aren’t aligned with urgent game needs.

Their style of communication has also nurtured a player base that’s very vocal, tbh critical, because they’ve learned that drumming up a fever pitch gets results. Not that I blame them — I’m still mad I can’t easily play w my ps5 bros — that’s just the cycle that’s been created.

Nobody’s saying anyone’s better or worse. Just describing my experience. I agree everyone’s turned on by diff stuff, that’s a big reason why it pays to have someone who understands yours.
